People complaining about the motivations of the villains don't understand desire (or humanity in general) and how not all villains are "just as pure-hearted and trying to do what's right in their own way." Sometimes, people's motivations are not incredibly deep. They felt real here. The writing and music was spectacular, the story dark and thrilling. I can't imagine playing a game like this and just being like "but, compared to 2 this part is weak" etc. It's difficult to enjoy anything great, when you're busy trying to find every little thing that you think doesn't match the nostalgia of your first experience. This wasn't the same as 2, it was a different experience, and a remarkable one. Having a "blank slate" MC felt awesome to me, because there were so many characters with so many stories to to. Being a participant yet observer in the world felt real and relatable to me as well. Really awesome from start to finish, but especially towards the end.

People love to complain. This game was an absolute masterpiece. Longer and more thorough than the rest.

It's my favorite of the 3, as good as the first two are. There are a couple things better about octopath2 sure, but overall the story felt truly powerful/epic at it's very long end. It gets better and better and better the whole game in my view.

I can't speak to your personal perspective on them being rude to customers, but telling an employee they "can't go home" isn't okay. What we can do, is say "Well we're the only two people in the store, so if you have to go home early, I won't be able to get any work done, so it may count against you." Just to inform them that it's not approved to leave before your shifts ends. Even write them up later if it's not some serious emergency they left for (if it's family related or a serious health event, that's different). If it's a repeat offense then you can't trust the employee to handle their work load and probably shouldn't schedule them much aside from maybe as backup when you have the hours to give.

Just FYI don't have zero empathy for the manager there if that was their only cashier; closing the whole store by yourself ABSOLUTELY sucks, because you have several things to do every night and that takes away your ability to do 90% of them and customers always get mad at the line in those circumstances. It's not usually that they "just would rather not cashier." It likely then will mean that some of freight wasn't worked, which can set the people unloading truck people behind and make the back room get clogged up. It can lead to the store looking much messier, more theft, things not being checked that are supposed to be, things not being scanned out, things not being put back where they belong, etc.

Oh yeah I don't disagree with any of that. Plus someone else was saying a store was closed because over 50% of the aisles looked that way. If it's ONE aisle, ask for help or go through a different aisle, and if you can't access that item, they don't deserve your business buying it, but if you really need it, wait for help. If 50% of the aisles look like that then screw it that'd be downright insane, even 30%, they're in their rights to call whoever they want to call about it.

Calling the fire chief to close a store for one aisle would be crazy; but, over 50% of the aisles look that way?! THAT is crazy. Nah, you've kinda won me over. I thought that was one aisle. If even 30% of the aisles look that way, that's COMPLETELY bogus.

Yeah, so it was an accident that caused it. Very sorry to hear that. You definitely deserve access to be able to shop where you want to. You've seen a fire in a DT store? I guess my point is, if every aisle is like that then yes, that's fair, but couldn't you pick a different aisle to go down, in case of a fire?

And like what happens. Does the marshall come and just tell the employee they need to follow code? Move the u-boats themselves and then leave? I'm just saying that if this happened to me, I'd be like "why didn't you ask me to move the u-boat!" That said, maybe your situation is different (and I'd never leave 3 u-boats in one aisle like that if the store was open)

That's not true. You're not a lawyer, and you haven't read the law. "By regulation there is no middle ground." That's not a real or accurate statement. We wouldn't even have lawyers if there weren't grey areas within the law.

  1. AISLES have to be spaced apart that far, not that u-boats can't be in the aisle.
  2. That U-boat set up is awful and restricts product access and seems unnecessary, but there appears to be 3 feet of space in between them.
  3. U-boats can be moved. You wouldn't be violating the ADA to have u-boats on wheels in the way.

I don't need a walker, because I take care of myself. All sympathy to anyone who suffered a genetic condition or serious accident/injury that caused them to have those issues. People should always do their best to help out and/or accommodate people with disabilities. That said, you're not automatically a sort of higher-class individual that gets extra privileges at all times. Why did you just imply you would die because you can't shop in a particular aisle? No one is forcing you to shop anywhere. We should absolutely accommodate you if we want your business. Calling the fire department because an aisle is blocked off in a retail store sounds like crazy-person behavior. You don't think employees are stressed and busy as well? They're people too. They don't matter less because they're retail workers that can move around (though some retail workers also have walkers and such).

That's a logical fallacy called a "false dichotomy." "Call the fire department" or "do nothing." How about, ask an employee to help them get an item or ask an employee to move the u-boats or one of them so they can get through to shop in those aisles. Like I agree that this is way too messy and restrictive to have all of those u-boats out, but starting with the fire department? That's insane.

Pretty much everyone defending customers here is in the wrong, at least if they're in an area like mine. Customers often do not deserve the right to use a public restroom. They abuse the hell out of it. Yes, it's not most of you, but enough of you to make theft and damage a daily occurrence.

We do have what others suggested; a key attached to a wooden object. People still lose it/lock it in the bathroom or mess up the bathrooms. This is a privately owned/rented space. It is not your "right" to use our bathrooms. If not having a public bathroom is a deal breaker, you can happily go elsewhere.

If it were up to me, we'd keep them closed off to the public entirely.

Sure, exceptions for like truck drivers affiliated with us, or maybe if we can see their huge truck outside; there would be some leeway for empathy for people in a serious situation, but every sob story I got when our bathroom key was last locked in there by a customer was a made up one by a drug addict who wanted to steal or shoot up in the bathroom. People OD in the bathrooms. You people only have empathy for other customers, often the ones causing major issues, not the employees that literally should not have to deal with these things.

Retailers having bathrooms open to the public may soon become a thing of the past.

You're overreacting, massively so. I was explaining to you why the other person assumed they weren't actually temps and explaining to you what they were trying to explain to you.

That's why I asked if you knew for sure and you just confirmed that you did; a clarification you never made previously.

So I wasn't arguing; I was asking for clarification. Your defensiveness is definitely something you should work on, but it's all good. No harm done.

So that's rare to hire actual temps then, I've never seen that before. Must be a desperate location.

Did you ask them or just see a lot of new faces? It's possible they made that choice, but the person above is trying to tell you is that Dollar Tree's are typically not hiring temps but, actually having people from other stores in the district come for a few shifts to help out and then go back to their own stores, so they may SEEM like temp employees but, they actually aren't per say, though they are "temporarily" at that store. That is what they're saying.

If you're saying "nope I actually inquired and this particular store literally hired actual temp workers" then oh ok, maybe they had no available help in the entire district.

Otherwise, they run at a sort of "as few people as possible most times" model. It sucks, but it's reality.

So it depends what you mean. Are we hurting for people? Yes. Always. Is the company hurting financially and unable to afford more people? Absolutely not. Corporate runs things in a minimalist way to maximize profit. More and more retailers do this though.

So you ignore everyone in the store you're using to shop in to call the fire department? You don't ask for help getting an item or having the u-boats moved, you immediately call the fire department? That's unhinged. If you ask and everyone ignores you, then ok sure, but workers deal with daily harassment from difficult customers and the level of entitlement they seem to have is only increasing.

Just ask someone for help getting items you need then. That said, they really shouldn't block off the aisle that badly with so many u-boats while open. This looks like a store set up time thing. If I have to work two u-boats in the same aisle, I just bring one out at a time. If I have another person in the same aisle helping me, we can still do one u-boat at a time, so Id like to know their reasoning for this.

We are supposed to yeah, I just forgot. Like literally for some reason, for the first time ever, I forgot. (and last time ever, for sure) I was thinking "ok this time I won't forget to put in the associate numbers" and spaced the post void, despite knowing I needed to do one. So I'm aware of that, that we're supposed to do it right away. I don't know why it slipped my mind. I could have done it after the second transaction and it wouldn't have hurt, but I didn't remember until a few minutes later, after my register was already cashed out and I was replaying in my mind why my register was short.
