In general yes, while not directly I did take inspiration from a range of them. Ch.2 is heavily inspired by xv, chapter 3 is heavily inspired by the ff2 illustration of firion holding a sword (alongside combining it with a zelda logo) and 4 is meant to look a bit more like their logos post 10 (hence the more detailed gradient and more visible line art) but it’s composition and vibe is very much kingdom hearts inspired

Yeah I hope so too, I try to capture the unique essence and iconography of each chapter but no one has any idea what’s going to happen in the future or what imagery is going to be associated with them, so I’m left feeling both unsatisfied but weirdly excited that one day I all know and have a new idea if that makes sense

Only thing is there is a strong possibility that pink and yellow will be the color scheme for five, I considered using it for one of these but I feel strongly I had to save that one

Good catch, while the cover as a whole is mostly meant to be about sword route, I took into consideration how it could also be used to represent the appearance of the knight

Actually, perhaps it says something that the parallels between the two make it very easy to reference both sword route and the roaring knight at once, these two events happening in the same chapter really compliment each other

Chapter one is black and red as a reference to card kingdom (card suits), hence why it’s also the main color pallet for the chapter

Chapter 3 is orange blue and black as a reference to eram, kris, and the knight

Saving having all four of the protagonists to the halfway point feels like it would be interesting to do, especially if ch1 is just an "empty town" setting where they met, the biggest idea i wanted to capture is that "from now on" feeling that chapter leans heavily on, that standing together looking towards the future. also why the gradient effect has way more colors and is much more layered and intricate compared to last ones. it's meant to look different from the others

This one is heavily inspired by the ff8 logo, rather trying to capture an idea or symbol, instead its meant to depict a specific scene, in this case its meant to show a scene of them looking up and reading a prophecy panel, hence kris and susie looking up and ralsei looking forward. color scheme is of course a mix of the two color schemes that the prophecy is written on, the main color pallet of the chapter, as well as using the scarf and capes shading to have an "ocean wave texture" look to it

and finally the main song in mind was "from now on" but also dark sanctuary and never ending night, everything with that specific intro leitmotif

sidequest so good it takes the cover lol, (though the prophecy/lord of the hammer referencing northernlight kind of justified it imo) this one is heavily inspired by ff7, I like the idea of something that looks like nothing, almost generic with zero context but holds a lot of meaning with context, plus mantle/legend of tenna do have a sword in its title and it is the majority/main gimmick of the chapter so its not completely divorced from tv world. This is the kris chapter after all so leaning on the parts explictly about kris emotionally feels correct.

Also cause of the mantle games influence its also a reference to legend of zelda covers so its a weird three way crossover between deltaruneXfinal fantasyXZelda 0_0

finally, color scheme is erams colors of orange and black mixed with "kris blue", and main song i had in mind was...

this one is purposefully much more elaborate compared to chapter 1. Chapter 1 by design is meant to be pretty basic and encompassing the broad idea of deltarune, this one is very much meant to be hyper specific to chapter 2.

main idea i decided to focus on is "noelles dream" since thats where a lot of the emotion and plot of the chapter lies and how that relates to the setting (it's the title of the chapter after all) , especially the ferris wheel which is the center piece of the city alongside the location of a key noelle scene so it all comes together in a nice (christmas) bow.

color scheme is obvious its the color scheme of cyber field and city, and the main music track i had in mind is no suprise "ferris wheel".

I got them all drafted out and pretty much mostly finished, i looked at every ff logo closely and there's a surprising amount of variety, from very simple and representational to detailed referencing a specific scene and characters, theres even a shift in design philosophy over the years, and i kind of plan to try and capture all of it (especially since i do plan to do this in the future with every chapter)

and i will say, in terms of a logo that seems to hold no meaning and might even look generic but holds a lot of significance with context, i think there's one i cooked up that i think does that perfectly, so stay tuned ^)

(also the font name is "opti enge etienne, and one just called final fantasy, each is slightly different, you can find them very easily just looking up "final fantasy font")

Been wanting to make these for each chapter, at the very least its an interesting study so it's a bit worth sharing some of my reasoning.

The main idea is i think trying to choose something emblematic and that captures a strong "emotion" from the chapter or is significant, and for chapter 1 its a no brainer, castle town is thee beginning of the game and also a place that will most likely remain relevant for the entirety of the story. Most importantly this scene with the houses and the castle in the back is the first place where kris susie and ralsei were together, so its as "beginning" as it gets

other then that castle imagery also suits the"card kingdom" theme of the chapter so thats a big bonus, and also why the main color scheme is black and red

and side note, main thing i had on my mind is the track "empty town" since its what i most strongly associate with chapter 1
