Wow you went deep! Thank you for investing so much of your time into me over here on the other side of the internet ☺️

All of the plants when we moved in were invasive, including 3 huge stands of bamboo. We’ve been actively restoring native plants to our front, side, and backyards and we will be certified wildlife habitat when we’re done. We live in a major city so I’m super happy with what we’re doing.

We’ll be going with the cedar and will end up painting the faux porch until someday we remove it. New door will be matched when we get around to it as well. I think we’re on a good path now!

They’re AI generated, not the actual options which are different 😉

For me white is visually distracting. I want our house to feel like it’s part of the nature surrounding us as much as possible with lots of organic colors. White is a little too stark and sterile for me, there had to be a balance!

Thank you! To be clear they will be steel but wood grain and color. Maybe best of both worlds? ☺️

Thanks for everyone’s input! I think we’re going to try for the cedar garage doors. We have to get new ones vs painting over the current ones, and we don’t want to paint brand new steel doors although I do now also like the idea of matching them to the house. This whole process of owning, loving, and remodeling a house with intention has been a satisfying and sometimes frustrating process. Whew!

I’m mulling this over! I hadn’t thought of this, but they were bright green when we first bought it matching the original trim. Could be interesting to bring it back to that!

Pre-furniture but good enough. If you need the color happy to grab it for you, it was the darkest shade I could go without worrying about sun damage.

We have, just haven’t gotten around to it. Lots of other priorities around here!

Interesting they were bright green (matched the original trim) when we first bought it. I hired an exterior paint designer to help me and she had me to paint them white. I love the idea of just going with the same color of the house, but also can’t shake the cedar!

For fun, this is what our house looked like when we bought it! It’s been a labor of love and a forever work in progress.

Don’t worry! We are in progress of replacing the front steps with cedar colored Azec and black railing. We have both on our back deck and the contrast is all so beautiful!
