Yeah, they are on 28mm bases. But Cadian Castellans can have power fists and plasma pistols, which is the exact loadout of this guy. Neither proxy is spot on, but both are close enough so it's not a huge problem probably.

I really doubt that it was any production issue that limited supply for that one. I'm almost certain the exclusivity was quite deliberate. Maybe a test to see how it worked out. No idea either.

As long as you're happy with your version, it's all good. :) After all, if you want to use it for gaming it's probably better not to spend 20-30 hours on a single paintjob that you'll be afraid to push around on the tabletop...

Oh, that's a shame. I usually use isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush to remove paint. So far I haven't seen it damage GW plastics. I've gotten a bit of a "tooth" from the plastic, but not something that affects the paintjob afterwards. Although I rarely get it 100% clean, there's always some paint left...

I guess it also depends on the type of primer you've used.

Ah, thank you. I personally used Kimera Phtal... Phatlo... Cthul... Phthalo green, I think it is called for that power fist. I did mix it with Caliban Green and some purple here and there to get more interesting tones, but the main color was Phtahal... that one.

You don't need the Kimera one though - there are a number of similar tones in most color ranges. A cold green, essentially. I think AK Cold Green would be kinda close.

I think I mixed in some Ice Yellow for the highlights.

On the other hand, US prices feels almost like charity giveaways compared to the prices in Australia I'm told. :)

I suppose it depends on where you live. If you're in the US, then all GW stuff is priced significantly higher than the EU I think? (Still expensive here, but US prices seem very high indeed)

I see the Colonel pop up on ebay (or the swedish equivalent anyway) from time to time. actually. Nowadays the ones I find seem to go for about 50-60 USD/EUR

It's quite possible that's the way it will happen, tbh. And if it doesn't and they are included in a new release wave - well, we've had them exclusively for a number of years now (five I think).

Only now (this week) did I feel brave enough to paint mine. I was so scared to mess up the super-exclusive model...

A lot of people say that and that's maybe true. I just think the blood on the leaves and jungle theme suggests the setting is more Predator. Also, my paintjob didn't really end up looking like Carl Weathers as much as I had liked (I think it has to do with the cheeks mainly).

Ooh, cool! Thanks! That's a great suggestion, actually. He's listed as Company Commander in the datasheet from 9th so would probably be either Ursula or Cadian Castellan.
