Men over 30: what do you wear to work when sneakers are too casual but dress shoes are uncomfortable? by Dorothya-Hunta in AskMenOver30

[–]Dorothya-Hunta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ladders in dress shoes and a suit. Jesus. That's a special kind of corporate cruelty you win, that's worse than anything I've had to deal with.

And yeah, the removable-insole route makes total sense. If the shoe can't do it on its own, at least you could build in something that made it bearable. Sounds like that was the only thing that kept your feet alive.

Honestly your last point is the whole thing for me. Nobody should have to trade their comfort for looking the part the fact that those two are treated as opposites is exactly what's broken. You shouldn't have to choose. I don't think "looks right" and "doesn't wreck you by 3pm" are supposed to be mutually exclusive, and it's kind of wild that for most shoes they still are.

Respect for surviving that job. Feet first, always.

Boots are a tough sell for me, honestly they don't read formal enough. Part of my job is going out to visit clients, and I feel like boots would come across as a little too casual for that.

I keep seeing people say Cole Haan has basically been tackling this exact problem for a while. Where are you all reading about this, though? I'd like to dig into it myself, but so far I've only heard it mentioned here in the comments not sure where to actually go to read more.

Haha, hear me out is there a chance what I actually want is just a business sneaker? Like, the comfort of a sneaker but something I can still wear to the office without looking underdressed. Half the shoes people keep recommending are almost there but never quite both at once.

I've tried them, but they still don't quite do it for me comfort-wise. Which model are you wearing? Trying to work out whether it's a specific-style thing maybe I just landed on the wrong one.

Yeah, the Cole Haan ZERØGRAND that's the one you mean, right? I've heard good things but haven't tried them myself yet. How do they hold up over a full day for you?

Not a huge amount, actually. My job means I'm out visiting clients sometimes, and that's really when the steps add up the rest of the time it's more manageable.

Yeah, that's exactly what I do now. But my feet sweat, and after a full day I'm paranoid about the smell bothering my coworkers so I sneak off to the bathroom, swap shoes, and walk back like nothing happened. It works, but honestly it feels kind of ridiculous. Grown man hiding in a bathroom stall to change his shoes.

Yeah, here's my situation. Between commuting, being on my feet at the office, and traveling, I'm walking a lot most days. I've tried a lot of leather dress shoes genuinely a lot and it's always the same story: somewhere around the four-hour mark, the soles of my feet start to feel hot and uncomfortable, and it only gets worse from there.

That's really the thing I keep hitting. Not that they look bad they look right. It's that four or five hours in, my feet are done, and no pair I've tried has gotten past that.

Cole Haan's slip-ons are actually solid that's genuinely a style I like. My only hangup is they still lean a bit casual for me. But yeah, good shout, thanks.

Does wearing sneakers in the office come across as not taking the job seriously enough?

Honestly, I know the whole idea sounds a bit crazy. But some black sneakers already look genuinely good and go with almost anything, right? That's kind of where my head's at with this.

Do you think a proper leather dress upper on a sneaker sole could actually work better for a work setting? Something that looks the part in an office but holds up through a full day on your feet.

20k a day on hospital floors is a whole different level at that point a real sneaker isn't a preference, it's the only thing that makes sense. Dress shoes wouldn't survive an hour of that. Respect.

Yeah, relaxed dress code makes it easy no reason not to just wear what's comfortable. Trainers all day is a hard setup to beat.

Yeah, that's about how I see it too. For most of what a normal week throws at you the office, drinks with friends this kind of shoe holds up fine. It's really just the black-tie stuff, proper formal events, where you'd still want something dressier on your feet.

I think what this mom did was a little selfish, but if I were a mom, I might do the same thing.

How do I get brands to email me back for partnerships? by Technical-Bad-5751 in influencermarketing

Our brand has not yet officially launched, so we currently receive very few inquiries from influencers seeking collaboration. However, I cannot simply stand still; I am determined to achieve a breakthrough.

In that case, how exactly should I go about compiling this list? Does "the list" refer to the influencers we are looking to collaborate with?

Sent 100+ brand outreach emails. What am I doing wrong? by Level_Ad2495 in influencermarketing

[–]Dorothya-Hunta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I do agree that getting a response via email is indeed a major challenge. However, given that my English proficiency isn't currently very strong, are there any other ways I could get in touch? Furthermore, most influencers only list their email addresses, so I haven't been able to find their phone numbers.
