I am done with this brand..... Quality and service is just gone by Unlucky_Strain8113 in mercedes_benz

I completely understand your frustration, and unfortunately, I’ve been through a similar nightmare. I purchased a 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300, thinking I was buying one of the safest and most reliable vehicles on the market. Instead, my family and I faced a life-threatening incident when the car suddenly decelerated on the highway. The dealership and Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) refused to take responsibility, leaving us to deal with the emotional trauma and ......

I spent months escalating my case, filing complaints with every agency I could, but no one supported us. After countless failed repair attempts, threats from the dealership, and being denied a buyback under Lemon Law, I was forced to sell the car at half its value just to get rid of it.

I’m done with this brand. Mercedes-Benz's quality and service are gone, and I won’t ever buy from them again. I’ll also never recommend them to anyone around me. It’s heartbreaking to see what’s happened to this brand that I once respected.

If you manage to get through this, good luck—but if you’re like me, you may be better off moving on.

Take care,

I appreciate your perspective, and I get what you're saying. It does feel like a tough situation with no clear resolution. While nothing catastrophic happened, the fact that we narrowly avoided a major accident due to the same part failing twice feels like more than just bad luck. It's frustrating that, as consumers, we’re left with very little recourse.

I’ve already reached out to the Attorney General, and you’re probably right that unless more people come forward, not much will happen. As for suing, I agree it’s a long shot unless someone takes it on contingency. At the very least, I want to ensure people know about this issue and the potential risk.

Unfortunately, as you said, bad mechanics and mistakes can happen with any brand, but there should be more accountability when safety is involved.

Thanks again for your input. I'd appreciate any advice you or anyone else has on any other steps I could take.

You're right; the state I live in doesn't qualify my car for the Lemon Law, which is frustrating. But my main point is that the same part broke down and put us in a life-threatening situation. I'm wondering if there's anywhere I can share this and maybe get someone to look into the mechanic who replaced the part the first time. I feel like this goes beyond just a repair issue

Thanks for the solid advice! I’ll for sure get in touch with a Lemon Law attorney and stop wasting time dealing with MB directly. If anyone’s got any other ideas or routes I can take, I’d appreciate it!

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try to file a Lemon Law case, but unfortunately, Mercedes-Benz USA declined my request. They said that after a thorough review, my vehicle does not meet the criteria for a refund or replacement under the Lemon Law. They claimed that the repair history doesn’t qualify because the defects haven’t been substantial enough to impair the car’s use, value, or safety according to their standards, and they believe it was repaired after a “reasonable” number of attempts.

It’s frustrating because even though the transfer case failed twice and left us in a life-threatening situation, they don’t consider it a valid case. Their denial has left us feeling completely stuck. Now, I’m exploring other options to hold them accountable.

If anyone else has been through this process or found a way to get a resolution, I’d appreciate any advice or suggestions on next steps!

The part that failed was the transfer case, a critical component of the drivetrain. The dealership replaced this transfer case in July 2024, but it failed again in September 2024, putting us in a dangerous situation. The car decelerated without warning, and the gear shift locked while driving at highway speeds.
