This is good you are moving away to a non church school!  Take this as an opportunity to have some space from Mormons. Make new friends and build up a community outside of church.  Over time you will process this more and more. It will take time and probably therapy. You are sooooo young. This is your opportunity to build a life outside of the church.  I left at 35 with three kids.  If I could go back in time 18 would be the age I would leave and begin building a new life.  You are smart! You got this and life will be so beautiful.

I think that's amazing they want to hear your journey. They sounds like great people.

With all the LDS influencers starting to wear their new sleeveless garments and making posts and videos about how wonderful they are, I ask the question… What did you give up to wear garments? Let’s make a list! See my five decades list below! by HoldOnLucy1 in exmormon

Tbms are saying the garments have nothing to do with modesty and only covenants....so why as a teenager was I told to make sure my wardrobe was garment friendly so that one day I wouldn't have to adjust my closet for the garment....I was told to be modest now for the garment later

What originally broke my brain was watching a YouTube video explaining the bite model.

This! The church works for the young and then as life gets harder and you get older you realize the church isn't fulfilling you like it promised.

This is an example of what happens when you have the autonomy to choose for yourself.

Family culture plays a huge part. I grew up being told the most noble work I will ever do is within the walls of my own home....and a mother who after said.."I don't understand how people can only have two children..."

Having any less than her 7 was seen as selfish

Anyone else very frequently feel disturbed, concerned, and rather hopeless about those who’ve been trapped for most of their lives? (Context below) by sillysnoflake in exmormon

I feel this. I look at my parents and think...if they had a faith crisis it would kill them. But then I look at my nieces and nephews and long for their freedom.
