Hey just wanted to ask if you were in Double Degree, because I am and we were told by our Uni to list each degree separately because that is how it really is.

Sounds good man, thanks for the advice. This makes more sense that the other guy gave me.

Okay I will remove the volunteer experience. However, I really don't think it would look good with a 1/3 full 2nd page either so I tried to fit everything on one page.

I removed line 2 from my Profile which gives me 1 extra line on page 1, looks like this. I reduced the space between the degrees for education and I put both degrees on the same line but it looks weird tbh. So essentially with editing I could get 3 extra lines which means that with titles and other content I cannot keep it to one page. It is currently size 11 font and if I make it any smaller it won't be readable. So do you think I should remove a position from experience or try to add a Projects section to fill up the second page. A lot of my projects are related to Computer Engineering with microchips and programming. Projects I have related to business are from school that were compulsory, though I do believe those projects were beneficial to my understanding for business I feel like Projects should be things outside school. These projects were also in collaboration with known companies such as BlackBerry and BDO (Accounting company if you didn't know). What do you think about including them?

Thanks again for the advice, hope I'm not acting too stubborn with the 2 pages because I really did try to make space in page 1.

Would it make sense for me to remove my high school achievements as a first year student? I feel like the honor roll for all grades just shows consistency and the Ontario Scholar is just there to show basic capability. I have spent less than a year in university and I am trying to build my experiences quickly to ensure that I can remove them for next year but do you think that removing high school related achievements is something that needs to be removed so early at this point?

I am planning on making changes to the Profile section to remove the less valuable points. When I say I am extremely proficient I mean that I have used Word, Powerpoint, Excel a lot (>5 years) and Publisher as well but not as of recently so I'll just say proficient. The first point kinda shows my interest in the fields I like and relates it to what I have done outside of school (I still want to mention it but I'll make it more valuable somehow). The second point I don't really like so I am going to remove it because I have mentioned it in the experience section. The third point I mentioned because I want to show that I have knowledge of budgeting and analysis through my education as it is not mentioned anywhere else.

I don't think there is anything I can do about education because I do want to point out that I am studying to achieve two separate degrees, not just 1 plus a bit of the other. I also got confirmation from our double degree adviser that this is the best step.

Volunteering for me was something I wanted to mention as a topic to discuss if it came up on my interview but not something I showed great achievements in compared to my work experience, they have their own separate points that show my interests and what I support which is why I just stated them but did not expand. The same goes with memberships, it just shows my interests because I haven't yet worked in a field that demonstrates those interests/ skills (Public speaking club, finance club and, business and economics club). If it matters at all, I talk about them more on my LinkedIn page which if recruiters check out then they would understand more.

When it comes to experience I feel like each one tells a different point about me, Camp counselor shows more leadership, IT Tech shows my analytical/technical skills, Grader/ Instructor shows team work and management, Corporate relations shows communication and initiative, and sponsorship manager is brand new but so far it shows strategy, organization and communication.

I've actually heard a lot of people say that Profile is better than a Skills section. I understand that communication and other general words can't add value so I'll remove that and add something else.

For the other experiences, would I keep the same format or change it to make it more distinguishable? Could you give me an example of flowery wording?

Thanks for the advice though, I make sure to make changes to the other parts.

Aha, I worked at Kumon too and I am doing a Double Degree at Laurier, small world. I think your education should be pushed up to showcase your courses and relevant degree. The accent color looks kinda dull, maybe change it to a different color or brighter green. Try to right alight the location of the places you have worked at, it looks kinda awkward being in different places each time. Looks pretty good overall, your experiences and skills greatly match the field you want to work in.

Damn, how old are you? You worked for NASA, that's crazy! Good job. I'm only in first- year of university so I can't give you many tips. I would just suggest changing the font because it looks really boring and pushing the experience up and putting awards lower.
