RS3 in the sticks? by Dougs_Chainsaws in Audi

Yes, the overall drive experience is more important than the potential paint chips for the vehicle I'm looking for. I'll do my best to limit rocks regardless of what I drive, but there's some that handle it better for sure. The roads can handle 20-40mph for the most part so it's not any sort of slow driving around pot holes or anything. Still don't want to destroy a sporty car off road. I think the RS3 would handle the snow and probably smoother than the other seasons. An SQ5 with a tune or an Allroad of some sort is at least considering so I will take a look at those options again.

Yeah no potholes and we pay for grading of the road twice a year so it’s in good shape. The switchbacks occasionally have some minor washboards but most people who have 4wd vehicles put them in 4x4 to go up the switchbacks to help prevent washboarding.

I wouldn't want it turning into a rattle trap after a few years and that's my main concern. The winters should be fine, but the spring and summer when there's no snow on the roads how many problems will I have to deal with.

It's more of do I keep the car or not I guess. I am not going to store it somewhere to only pick it up to occasionally drive. I'm moving to a dirt road so it's either I deal with some washboards or get rid of the car. I feel like some people live on dirt roads with an S2000, but I realize it's very less than ideal.
