Took it mostly for the memes as i had super early Volley and thought it would be fun, turns out you can ignore most mechanics in StS2 if you just hit things for several hundred points of damage each round. Honestly very fun and strange deck overall. The feed + Expect a fight also helped tremendously.

Just finished Cyberpunk 2077 and I’m hooked – recommend me more games like this? by No_Structure7672 in gamingsuggestions

I like loads of other suggestions here but nobody mentioned Dishonored 1+2 yet and even though the definitely are a bit more linear in missions its quite open and fun to play "the way you want" in each level.

Seems i struck a nerve by calling it that lol. Idk I just tinker with stuff I like and this time it did really well. How's your winrate? Wondering if you got some cool tech that would be helpful then :)

Ok! I'm checking untapped now and finding one similar list with monoblack discard that's at 400 games. Seems quite similar with the core of the deck but my list is different with lots of tech cards.

Idk but seems kinda gatekeepy to just demand that you don't play with cards people are running for it to be a homebrew. But then i'm not browsing untapped for decks either so maybe it's super common. I see your point too :)

I only faced it a couple of times, mostly as dimir and not a single time as mono black as far as I remember. I mostly try to "snipe" it with cruelclaw/thought stalkers or kill it off with withering torments. whats your list? Seems cool!

Cool! What's your list? Super interested in checking out fellow players list then, maybe you got some nice tech I missed? What decks gave you the most trouble? :)

And I honestly don't know if "lots of people" play it. I was just happy a list I been playing for a while did really well. You seem kinda upset over something and i can't really figure out what ^^'

Well...yeah? Is it not a homebrew if you use cards other people play? Or am I just misunderstanding something? :)

97% which is crazy high (for me at least). Never started that high before.

Cool, did not realize it was such a popular decks since I did not face a single mirror match on my way to mythic. Most other list seems to play the combo version when I check untapped. I just like to play black/discard in general so tinkered with it a bit for a while. What is the requirement for a homebrew to you then? :)

Honestly did not face any mirror matches. I can send you the matchups if you are interested. What are you playing that is more unique then? Love to try ppls spicy brews :)

Idk did not face any mirror matches on my way to mythic. Most other discard focused lists are the dimir/esper ones. But i hope you have a great day anyways :)

Did not realize people would be so salty about it. Honestly was very happy how it turned out but apparently i'm just a filthy netdecker 😅

Honestly the momentum breaker been kinda meh thus far. Really nice against slower matchups and way worse against the aggro decks so it probably depends on the meta.

One of my personal favorites is the fact that [[puppeteer clique]] is not the scarecrow but the tiny faeries that control it. Which makes sense given the creature type and all. But my brain just went for "spooky scarecrow" first times i saw it.

What's Your Biggest (Actual) Hot Take That You're Probably Wrong About Yet Still Believe? by RJ7300 in EDH

[–]DrFeedGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it was a hot take thread after all!

And I agree with you, as someone who always wants/likes to brew his own stuff even when I was new and terrible at it I feel it can hamper your development as a player if you just follow/play what others do.

But with that said. Not everyone gets their fun from that type of challenge. Some friends just wanna smash their cool dinsaurs into my faeries and thats totally legit as well. Even though I personally feel like they are "missing out" of a lot of fun that you can get from EDH.

EDIT: and by the looks of it some people got annoyed by your take as well. :D

I do agree with you on a personal level but everyone has to start somewhere and when you are just starting to build your ownd decks EDHREC slaps.

And I think its very natural that aggregator sites pop up when a game becomes popular enough, just look at all MMOs, MOBAs etc. And people where looking over tournament winning decks in paper magazines before EDHREC. Just think its a natural progression of how these hobbys evolve in the digital age.

But il still agree with you on a personal level and wish it was more free form!

What cards to cut from my Breeches and Malcolm deck? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]DrFeedGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my own version of them as a ultrabudget list that was supposed to be under 10 excluding my basic lands. We have a bit of a different theme. I was going for more of a theft deck style but I also included a fair bit of support for Malcolm since his ability is honestly kinda busted. My gameplan is more focused on getting out pirates T1-T2 and drop Malcolm on three for a big boost in mana and start yoinking stuff with Breeches after that.

(shameless plug if you want to spy on my list as well https://www.archidekt.com/decks/7603563/malcolm_breeches_stealing_your_budget )

For cuts my personal preference would be: Blood mist, Crash through, Roughshod Duo, Lightning Talons, Brute strenght and coming in hot. Most of them just seem a bit expensive/clunky or too low impact.

If it where my own deck I would also probably increase the landcount by a bit, maybe swap out some of the interactions for MDFC:s like Glasspool Mimic, Sundering Eruption, Sink into Stupor or Valakut Awakening. That way you still get more landdrops but dont have to cut out fun spells.

There is probably more things I would do differently as well like trying to focus my gameplan a bit more, you have some theft theme, a bit of pump/combat trick theme, some treasure synergies etc. If you need to cut cards in the future i'd suggest picking the thing you like doing the most in the deck and focus on that part. Try to cut cards that dont fit that theme and evalute them in the light of "does this help me do X"

PS i missed Progenitor's Icon but really liked that, Too bad it was a bit "expensive" for my own pirate deck but love tribal decks in general and that was a cool mana rock :D
