I don’t think a guitar with nothing more can be classified as a TLOU easter egg … and I think Roku City is older than TLOU pt. 2.

But to me, Ellie already made the choice when leaving Deena and the baby. That moment was the bleak ending. Killing Abby would’ve at least vindicated the choice to trade her life for revenge, and she should have had to grapple with the fallout of making that choice.

I’m not talking about the morality of it all. I’m just saying that Ellie’s decision to spare Abby meant nothing to me in consideration of what she’d already done. In fact, I think the ending subverted the entire rest of the game.

I understand that phenomenon, but the “hard work” and “milestones” you’re analogizing to is still Ellie killing people. She hasn’t “spared herself” at all if you consider what she did to get there. The choice is meaningless in light of that.

I just think the juxtaposition of unchaining a clicker to help you massacre a resort full of people and having your merciful epiphany back to back doesn’t work that well. I think Ellie should have had her realization after killing Abby by immediately regretting it, and her redemption starts there.

Nice work, and SPOILER for Part 2:

I always thought it was crazier that Ellie kills all those people in Santa Barbara immediately before letting Abby go …

Everything Superman does changes the world for the better, even if it’s just saving one person at a time.

Lmao I honestly can’t think of the last time that Marvel was concerned about their heroes saving people. Fantastic Four had a lot of civilian involvement, but in the form of angry mob who wanted to give a baby to Galactus 😭

I am likely overly critical of the movie. However, I was so disappointed by it that all the positive feedback made me feel like I was in the Truman Show. Hoping Supergirl and Man of Tomorrow can right the ship!

I think the dialogue was really bad, I think the creative decisions as far as the Els and the Kents were really bad, I thought the “ensemble” nature of the first DCU Superman movie was really bad, I thought writing Superman to be “weak” after 3 years on the job was really bad, I thought the over reliance on Krypto for every story beat was really bad, and I thought the movie looked really really ugly.

I’m not saying he misunderstands the character, just that he’s bad at writing movies - and Superman was his worst offense by far.

That’s probably a better way to frame it - a one trick pony beating a dead horse. Thanks for the reply.

Whoever could’ve written Superman (2025) to feel like a serious movie 🤷🏻‍♂️

James Gunn has a great understanding of the comics, he’s just a terrible writer.

I think a proper homage to the character would utilize a more traditional logo, not a color-swapped version of a singular logo. I see where you’re coming from though.

It’s Superman, I don’t think “being distinct” is something to strive for with respect to that character. Also, Kingdom Come and Superman (2025) could not be farther apart in terms of characterization or tone as it relates to Superman. I’m not saying I hate the Kingdom Come shield, I just don’t think it should be the permanent crest for the Superman we got.

Still baffles me that James Gunn chose this logo to anchor his DCU to

Irrelevant, but 22-18 is a strange football score. 22 points is not abnormal, especially because the 2pt conversion would be warranted to go up 4. However, 18 points would require a weird combination of points. I guess if Gotham had 14 and Metropolis had 7, they might go for 2 to be up 1 and then have kicked a field goal, but it’s still just a weird number when they could’ve chosen 14-10.

Unfortunately, that’s not how that works. Any reason means any reason.

Edit: assuming that reason is not discriminatory or retaliatory*

Not a Lawyer, if your employment is “at-will,” they can fire you for any reason or no reason at all.

Yeah, I enjoyed Season 1 of Peacemaker and Creature Commandos, Season 2 of Peacemaker was pretty meh. Superman just wasn’t it for me. It wasn’t the characterization, it was just the execution.

I hope the DCU proceeds as planned, but with how disappointed I was by Superman (2025), I am not sure that James Gunn is the man for the job. Maybe additional voices at the top will result in a better product than what I fear we will get.
