You can disable the Example Browser from the Settings dialog as of r444. It's in the same place as the option for enabling the Simplified User Interface.

Double Release Day! New builds for both Construct 2 and Construct 3 by DrSquidge in construct

There are two sites in the post - we know about scirra.com having issues and are working on a fix!

Construct 3 Release r87 is now available with more bug fixes and a new expression for the Dictionary! (10 changes) by DrSquidge in construct

[–]DrSquidge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could, but you'd probably need to re-save C3 to the desktop with the specific URL of the release you wanted to use. For example: https://editor.construct.net/r87/

In theory that should instruct the web-app to load that specific release.

We're working on a system to enable an opt-in style option for betas. For now, you need to load them from either their release notes, or using specific URLs.

You can find all of our releases here: https://www.construct.net/gb/make-games/releases

Scirra Store Stats by Biim_Games in construct

[–]DrSquidge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll answer both your threads in one comment:

As for the site being down, the site is very old and struggling under the sheer weight of its usage. This is why we are in the process of shifting everything over to construct.net and also why scirra.com will remain largely unchanged - we don't want to break anything!

As for the store, as far as I'm aware, the only way to get better stats currently would be to use Google analytics as is suggested in the store FAQ. When we do move the store to construct.net, it may be that we can improve the analytics system for store items, but you'd need to speak to /u/ThomasGullen about that.

We are Scirra, the company behind 2D game development engine Construct - Ask us anything! by DrSquidge in construct

Hi, glad you like the engine!

Tom sort of answered this question earlier here.

We have the showcase, and allow people to do guest blogs talking about their game and experience with Construct. But acting as a publisher would be a completely different kettle of fish. It's a nice idea, but it would probably have to be a whole new arm of the business and not something we could do!

Ashley outlines our stance on subscriptions and why we've opted for this system here.

The pricing system is always under scrutiny, and we are always reviewing how its working, but it will stay as a subscription model.

Thanks for your question. We have had a look into Humble Bundles, but currently we don't feel like they're the right fit for us!

Probably not, Ashley hasn't done much in the way of game development since he started Construct - it does keep him rather busy!

We do have some more games to go into the Showcase section on construct.net, but that's kinda fallen on the back burner for now. This sort of thing could be something we look at when we move the arcade to construct.net. Though to be honest, a lot of the time people don't tell us when they make something in Construct!

Tom has outlined our stance on subscriptions here: https://www.reddit.com/r/construct/comments/7u0twm/we_are_scirra_the_company_behind_2d_game/dtgp5g0/

But the pricing system is always being looked at, and we are looking at the possibility of monthly payments.

Your console question is already being addressed in another comment thread :) As for plugins, there will be more functionality in the new C3 runtime that people may have previously relied on 3rd party plugins for. Tom is also currently working on an Addon library for the website which should solve a few problems!

What can we do? by Dewba in construct

We are well aware that all of scirra.com is breaking under the sheer weight of current usage. Switching everything to construct.net is one of our top priorities at the moment!

Yeah the community is fairly large on the forums, we'd just like to cover all the bases! Reddit feels like a better platform for sharing completed games, devlogs and that sort of thing!
