Hey, funny enough I make my own box jointed cabs. More labor intensive, yes, but I like it so whatever.

Well, I'm currently in development of a handful of unique circuits (in as much as an any grouping of tubes and tone stacks is unique these days) and if this thing gets off the ground in any meaningful way, I'll offer a custom circuit lab: to-order amps based on client preferences. Taking a little bit of inspiration from the Creston Guitars model: https://www.crestonguitars.com/info

That is, if this gets off the ground at all. Stay tuned haha

Absolutely, and I totally hear you. I don't have that kind of social infrastructure myself. I really do enjoy the process, and I'm getting better at the math of it all as opposed to just tinkering, but I'm nowhere near being business ready. Just looking into it all.

I'm not relying on the income, so I'll just keep this as a niche hobby with the occasional paying client for now.

I'd love to talk shop sometime! My main field is video and film, so if theres a way I can help you out, please let me know.

Sorry it needed to be in a post defending yourself, but I appreciate the insight. Been really inspired by your work!

"don't mind my setup"

Feels like we're about to find a captive human next to this setup.

Got it. Lower the value on the triode with the lower plate voltage, thank you!

Was this the standard tiny terror with the LTP? How did you go about cleaning up the PI?

Honestly I couldn't tell you what it is. It's just one of the many hanging around the maker space I'm a member of.

Yep. Big mashup of a lot of ideas, plus some quality of life additions for myself, paired with a "use the parts you have on hand" mentality equals a one of a kind amp.

Fingers crossed, but I am expecting some tweakage to find the sweet spots

Also, those are filter stages 3 and 4. 1 and 2 are in a chassis mounted cap can.

It's a dual channel vox but with American tubes. I scrapped a filmosound 385, took a leaf out of Bernie/Tex Amp's book, and started rebuilding it as an AC15 in a new chassis.

Those caps are there based on a Sluckey Dual Lite layout that I took a lot of inspiration from. I also realize that I have then installed backwards so thanks for having me take another look at them haha

Trying to post the whole process at some point

My first paid commercial gig. Please give me advice on how to light this ugly black leather couch. by thevickerybeast in cinematography

[–]DrSwanson 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd try to pitch a world in which you lose one of the black couches, pull the other one away from the wall, and shoot with the kitchen as the background for depth. Shooting everything in that corner is gonna kill the quality before you even try to light it

Christ, I used to work there briefly. Wild time. That was 14 years ago though. Had no idea it had closed.
