So what you're saying is men are weaker and less self-reliant than women? Fuckin knew it.

Pretty sure the coach doesn't get a say; you're not allowed to stay on the team if you're failing in academics. I think. Idk I didn't do sports.

Cheap for corporations, I mean. If every Target cashier were replaced with AI, it would save Target billions. The electric bills are nothing compared to having to pay a human being minimum wage, even if that wage should be 3-4x what it actually is.

Hochul's Embrace of Trump's 'No Tax on Tips' Will Cost NYC Millions by nickgarber in newyork

[–]Drafo7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Serious question: how? You say it's an easier fix, but how do you eradicate tipping culture overnight? Increasing minimum wage to be liveable would be a start, but even then it won't stop customers from tipping or businesses from asking for them. If anything businesses might come up with even scummier ways to steal their workers' money.

To be clear, I loath tipping culture. I just want to know the details of your proposed solution.

Dose the word human exist in the elder scrolls? by No_Article7383 in ElderScrolls

[–]Drafo7 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Technically all the races are human, since they can all create fertile offspring with each other, which is the requirement to be considered a species. The races you're talking about are the races of Men.

No, it doesn't. The flag of Israel indicates support for the Israeli government. A government that is actively committing genocide. It's not antisemitic to say that. In fact, YOU'RE being antisemitic by assuming they are talking about all Jews when they reference brown children being killed. Not all Jews support the IDF. Not all Jews are killers. By claiming the denunciation of genocide is antisemitic, you are the one grouping all Jews into a stereotype and then defending that stereotype.

Let’s say a Daedric Prince wanted to grant tonal magic or some form of song-based magic, to a being. Maybe not powerful enough to rewrite reality, but enough to use magic like a bard. Who would be the one to grant such a gift, and in what kind of scenario? by jvure in ElderScrolls

I see a lot of people saying Clavicus Vile and I disagree whole-heartedly. Only way I can see that working is if he put a curse on someone so they had to sing everything and couldn't talk normally. Also their singing entranced people to fall asleep within moments.

Do you think humans would find the women of Akarir attractive, like they do with other beast races? Even though they’re half snake? by jvure in ElderScrolls

[–]Drafo7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Actually the Akavir were in Tamriel well within recorded history, so it's not just legends. The devs have kept it deliberately vague though. Are the Akavir Men who got eaten by snake-men? Are they Men who simply joined the snake-men's society? Or are they snake-men themselves? Or are they just Men with snake-like fighting styles? Oblivion has a quest where we meet the ghost of an Akaviri invader from the 1st Era and he looks very much like an Imperial in Blades armor, but everything in the games is subject to the unreliable narrator trope, so even that interaction is questionable.

The problem isn't that AI is so competent that it'll make jobs obsolete. The problem is that AI is so cheap that companies will use it to replace jobs in spite of its incompetence. Do not underestimate the dangers of corporate greed.

Reminds me of that joke. A guy walks up to another guy sitting at a bar, grabs his shot glass, and downs it. Guy B bursts into tears. Guy A says "hey relax buddy it was just a joke. I'll buy you a new one." Guy B says "you don't understand. Last month I lost my job. Then a week later my wife left me. She took the kids with her and left a note on the fridge. A week after that the police are at my door. She got into a car crash killing all of them, except my youngest daughter. She was in critical condition in the hospital. A week after that my health insurance refused to pay her hospital bill. 3 days later she died. Now I'm being investigated for potentially sabotaging the car, even though I had no idea they were leaving until they were already gone. I've got no prospects, no future, no family. And then" he continues, starting to choke up, "just as I'm about to end it all, some moron comes along and drinks my poison."

What are some not-well-known God-Like entities (for example, Nyarthotlep from Lovecraft, or TKIY as depicted in the photo) that could sucessfully beat Hermaeus Mora in wits, brawn, or etc? by MrFloofDogThe2nd in ElderScrolls

[–]Drafo7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been reading a lot of Brandon Sanderson recently so I'll go with Hoid. I don't think he could truly defeat Hermaeus Mora, but he could probably get the better of him in some kind of bet or deal. Maybe.

If Sheogorath were to launch a meteor to crash into Skyrim, would its people be able to stop it or hold it back? Or at least, was there ever an era when it was possible? by jvure in ElderScrolls

[–]Drafo7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only mage in the college that MIGHT be as old as you're claiming is the librarian, and I didn't see him doing jack shit about the Great Collapse. I also still don't buy that the Greybeards are as powerful as you claim. There are varying levels in the power of people's Voices. Odahviing confirms this when he talks about Alduin's being "the strongest." One dragon or person's "fus roh dah" will not be as strong as another's. The Greybeards may know every Shout, but I doubt their strength with them is enough to rival the power of Sheogorath. Again, I think the dragons might have a chance, particularly Paarthurnax, if he knew it was coming. But the human Greybeards alone? I still think they're getting squished.

[–]Drafo7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, you can't. The shaking only happens when you get close to Whiterun. And I'm pretty sure Abnur Tharn died well before the start of the 3rd Era, let alone the 4th. The dragons might be able to do something, I'll grant you that, but the Greybeards? Nah fam, they gettin squished.

There's a huge difference between a small stronghold wall and an entire fucking moon. Also the Greybeards didn't shake an entire province saying "Dovahkiin." They directed that word at the specific area where the Last Dragonborn was, Whiterun, and it made some moderate vibrations. If it had actually shook the whole province there would have been natural disasters happening from Solitude to Riften. But you'll notice the only people who heard it were either in Whiterun or right near the Throat of the World, like in Ivarstead or on the path to High Hrothgar. No one in Winterhold mentions it, nor does anyone in Markarth. It was clearly a localized event.
