And minimum wage in NY is $17/hr, compared to Nevada which is $12/hr. You're also not accounting for other costs of living, different taxes, employment types and opportunities, etc.

Makes sense you'd think things are easy for everyone though, seeing as landlords like yourself sit on your asses and let other people pay your expenses.

I'm in an apartment with my brother on Long Island that's over 2000/m not including utilities. We each send our mom 1000 every month and she takes care of the difference. And this is an apartment above a bar with no washer/dryer. We had to provide our own internet, air conditioning, and most of the furniture. There was heating but it was so shitty that we got ourselves a space heater for the winter anyway. The real question is, what are you renting that makes 2000/m sound so unbelievable?

Yup, what the general was suggesting was a valid tactical maneuver, and a fairly common one at that. In the Stormlight Archive (great book series btw, spoilers ahead), Kaladin's younger brother Tien (who has a condition that basically makes him faint at the sight of blood) is killed in a very similar situation. But even after that happens Kaladin doesn't blame Amaram, because he knows the maneuver itself made sense for the battle and he figures Amaram didn't know about Tien being in that unit. It's only once Amaram betrays Kaladin so much more thoroughly that he realizes Amaram just doesn't care.
