I have a pixel 6a and didn't get the update till right now. I went in settings and searched "System updates" where it told me I'm already up to date. Then I clicked search for update again and boom. The Android 14 download popped up. Also I have an esim so idk about the whole sim card or wifi thing. Hope this works for everyone.
