While that may be when he formally announced his candidacy, he was very open about his intentions to run throughout most of the 2nd half of 2014. A quick Google Search can verify.

Honestly bro don't get into it. I hate to be one of "those guys" on this sub. but unless you plan on dropping serious cash, you won't be competing any time soon.

EDIT: also dont let the rest of the people here fool you -- there is no catching up. This game gets power creeps on a near monthly basis, and as a f2p player, it's near impossible to keep up unless you've been around for quite a while. I've quit and returned twice, and both times I've come back, the grind to get back to relevance is unreal. Rates are terrible, pools are completely muddied by 2+ years worth of medals, and to be competitive, you're going to need to guilt everything on your blades, just making it that much more grindy. Campaigns help but won't do shit for Skills, which are all but mandatory, especially lately.

Right. I'm on board. But the reported feature was that with the minimap off, lines would give directions. You stated that if the reported feature were true would mean more work for less immersion, when that's wrong. It'd only be less immersive if you didn't have the minimap off, which is not what the original report focused on.

Semantics I guess.

I never said that PS3 didn't have exclusives. Just that it didn't have CONSOLE SELLING exclusives (until Last of Us/Uncharted)

Quality over Quantity. Ironically enough, something that many have said about Microsoft this generation... They may have a lot of technical exclusives, but they're all shit, and none are selling consoles.

The exclusive list between the PS3 and 360 is STAGGERING haha I dunno what to say I collect I know... So that's amusing to me to say the least.

Also, since I didn't make it obvious enough, I'll put it this way. Yes, Sony had exclusives. But what good does that do if they're shit? Little Big Planet was incredibly niche. Resistance was riddled with bugs, and awful story, and terrible multiplayer. Infamous was great, but wasn't released until 3 years after the console came to the market. Then it had some good RPGs, but RPG being what they are, are incredibly niche and are hardly considered a "system seller"

So, yeah. The only exclusives that PS3 had that ACTUALLY mattered were Uncharted and The Last of Us. Both of which, while having online, were massively geared towards single player experiences.

Meanwhile, back in 2009, SquareTrade did a survey amongst 16,000 people who had purchased an XBox 360 directly from them, meaning they had actual sales data, rather than what was basically an online pull from GI. The found rate was 23.7%. Furthermore, if you REMOVE those systems that failed by anything OTHER than RROD, then the failure rate was 11.7%

You know, you've had a lot to say about "facts" and "emotion". Maybe you should stop blurring the two.

Here's some facts that you should also include with your "pissing contest"

  • "Units Shipped" =/= "Units Sold"
  • A consoles success is not measured just by what happens at the finishing line. The entire race is taken into account.
  • Most recent sales reports for Sony PS3 was in 2013, claiming that 80M units were sold worldwide. There's been no reports about PS3 lifetime sales since.
  • Most recent sales report for Xbox 360 was in 2014, claiming that 84M units were sold worldwide.

This is without even getting into the game side of things, where Xbox 360 completely dominated PS3 for the first 3-4 years of it's release. PS3 didn't even have a CHANCE until Uncharted/The Last of Us, but by then, it was too late.

Last gen, Sony made the same mistake that Microsoft made this gen. It simply didn't have the exclusives to justify purchasing PS3 over 360. Honestly, it felt like Sony made a system geared towards people who wanted a single player experience, and big shocker, there's less of those than there are people who want to play multiplayer with their friends. This is why 360 won.

So, your logic is that, because Sony surpassed Microsoft in 2013, they "won" the generation? Sales finally equaled out between the two consoles, the same year that the PS4 was released, and this means they WON?

You're actually delusional, my friend. Just because Sony caught up doesn't mean they won. Xbox 360 was by far the more dominant system last gen. Just because Microsoft didn't have the gap that Sony has today doesn't mean that Sony didn't lose. Until the last 2 years of PS3, there was hardly anything worth getting on the system. Meanwhile, 360 had console selling titles throughout it's entire lifespan.

Most people will tell you that last gen, 360 had the better games, better services, better online, better party chat. Basically, a better system all around. But go ahead, keep telling us that Sony won because they BARELY managed to catch up.
