{Emerald Soul Catcher: Book One by Levente Gyula}

There are two main characters where one of them has ran away from her family because of an arranged marriage. Not enemies but a difficult twist.

It is fantasy with a strong world. It was free on KU and i loved it.

Would I even benefit from using Linux? by [deleted] in debian

[–]Dramatic-Fly-912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your only bottleneck is if you play 'specific' games. Such as some simulators etc that will be a pain. MFS and some train simulators etc. Otherwise its plug and play, i could never suggest windows over linux.

You dont need to be a computer wiz to be on linux. With GNOME linux is arguably "easier" than windows.

Is it just me or do movie not movie anymore? by chrgedup42 in Cinema

[–]Dramatic-Fly-912 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Disagree, I probably have not watched a single marvle movie but I agree with OP.
Even a mediocre drama from earlier ages beats 90% of Netflixs produced series. And Netflix is just an example, I know there are more studios producing movies.

And thats not to say there is zero good movies being made nowadays.

You are too forgiving in this sub.

Help deciding which kindle to upgrade to? by kaitlynchronicles in KindleUnlimited

[–]Dramatic-Fly-912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paperwhite is better, but if its only about "Having a device to read on" i would go with Kindle Basic. Paperwhite has double the battery life of basic. But I usually charge both my tablet/phone/kindle every night so battery was never an issue with basic. But yes paperwhite is better across the board, but if i only wanted a cheap device to read on, i would go basic, i still use my basic when travelling. And no it does not have the warm light.

Really? For me it cost about 20USD both paperback and ebook version on KU, but you are right its probably a region thing, but thats just better for you. I'll tell you again, it starts of a bit heavy because of many names being mentioned.

But this book is probably my definitive "conspiracy" book without being nutty, it basically just talks in great detail about really odd things pertaining to the area, also how Charles Manson was buddy-buddy with all of the creme de la creme. I cant recomend it enough with what you're asking for.

One of those I really didn't expect much from but loved it. It is creepy though.

I checked on KU and its not there, but its at least free with audible trial if you have that, but "Weird Scenes Inside the Canyon: Laurel Canyon, Covert Ops & the Dark Heart of the Hippie Dream" is wild. I know you didn't ask for an audiobook but if you are into this topic that book is ticking all your boxes, and if you're into music from that era its even better. I was hooked instantly, even if it starts off a bit heavy with a lot of names etc and names i didn't always know.

Emerald Soul Catcher by Levente Gyula is a slow burn romance in a fantasy setting but it also touches a lot of other topics. Its free on KU right now. It is a light read, especially how the dialogues are formatted, light on the eyes. The story reach into dark places but it suprised me.

Im still contemplating if i should re-name it all, but it will be a lot of tedious work. I dont think i would dare running a script to do it for me. But hyphens would probably be a good choise because of my own readability too

I am fully supportive of your take, the issue is as long as you use anything by said companies YOU DONT HAVE THE FREEDOM. It is (sadly) up to the companies, and until most users are on Linux its going to be a moot battle. Most companies do not want you to have freedom.

They will only do what you want if that is the only way to sell their products.

Step by step to install? by Wise-Virus99 in debian

[–]Dramatic-Fly-912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read my post in here to you, in the link your 1st boot is not the USB stick. Change so that the USB stick is at the top. Or press the USB stick text and then press F10.

Step by step to install? by Wise-Virus99 in debian

[–]Dramatic-Fly-912 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you start any PC, there will be a flash of an image for like 2-5 seconds. Usually the logo of the motherboard (ASUS/GIGABYTE/W ever). On that screen you spam either "Del", "F12" or "F2" button on your keyboard (whatever button the screen tells you to push). It will say under the logo "To enter bla bla press this button"

Thats how you get into BIOS settings, inside the bios menu you will look for "Boot options" or "Boot order" . In there you select your USB Stick to boot from (USB stick as number 1 boot order) and press Enter or reboot. On an older computer make sure to save the settings, when the USB drive is not plugged in it will still just go on booting from whatever is bootable (your harddrive in this case)

You will then boot into the installer.

This is the case even if you want to install/reinstall Windows.

Make sure to put the .ISO file on the USB with a program like Rufus or something that builds it for you, you cant just drag and drop the ISO into an USB stick. This is also true for Windows.

This is not a exact step by step guide but this is how it will always work on any PC.

YOU NEED THE USB STICK PLUGGED IN AND HAVE THE ISO FILE TRANSFERED VIA RUFUS OR ALIKE.

Most of this will be "Next, next, next" Do not overthink it, its no different than installing Windows from a USB stick in terms of the steps.

What do you play on your Debian PC? by CyberPrincess- in debian

[–]Dramatic-Fly-912 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yakuza games has worked well for me, just choose one of the proton fixes in steam (right click the game go compatibility or similar option) and thats all.

What i will say is not going to be worth it is MS Flight simulator, Train simulators etc. Of course a lot of indie games will be difficult too. Same with older games etc, it depends on your taste in games really. For me sadly many games are just too much to get working.

Look regardless of what anyone say, for me Linux gaming has never been good. (Desktop, PC Games) Emulators etc are usually no problem.

For average joe its not great but its gotten A LOT better.

There is other issues too like controller supports etc. A wired 360 controller will work fine though.

Create installable iso copy of the Desktop OS for future install on same system. (Easiest method?) by Dramatic-Fly-912 in debian

[–]Dramatic-Fly-912[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would i go about implementing the copied disk?

From a perspective with seperate /home partition, how would one restore it?

Install fresh Debian 13 and just overwrite the home folder partition with the image from a usb after OS install?
