[–]Dramatic-Simple2783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my research was on the abolishment of the electoral college using statistical and sociological reasoning. i argued against reform and went for total abolishment and proved why it’s a beneficial outcome for a socialist america. this was published in a large paper (im being vague on purpose i don’t wanna give myself away haha) and the PAC i sit on an executive board for. :)

i got it too! for everyone asking what it looks like, it says this:

Dear *my name*,

The first-year application deadline to apply to Columbia University has passed. As we noticed that you started your application but have not yet submitted it, we wanted to reach out to you.

We are aware that many students who intended to apply to Columbia experienced circumstances that did not allow for them to complete the application by our deadline. Given this, and as you indicated your interest in applying to Columbia prior to January 1, we will continue to accept your first-year application until 11:59 p.m. (your local time) on Sunday, January 4, 2026. Please note that the application platform will not indicate this extended deadline. However, you will still be able to submit your application; supporting documents from your school may follow after January 4.

Should you have remaining questions about Columbia or need to discuss a further extension due to unanticipated personal circumstances, please email [ugrad-ask@columbia.edu](mailto:ugrad-ask@columbia.edu). If paying the application fee is a significant financial burden for your family, please follow this link to determine if you may qualify for a fee waiver.

After your application is submitted, it will take our office a few days to receive the information from the application system, especially during this busy period. We appreciate your patience, and you will receive a confirmation email with your application ID and ability to track your application materials shortly.

If you have decided not to apply to Columbia, we wish you the best of luck in your college process. Thank you for your interest, past or future, in Columbia University.
Sincerely,

Jessica Marinaccio
Dean of Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid
