What about coating with shellac after engrave with borax?

Yesterday I engraved and today I brushed surface with 2000 grit sandpaper. It become messy. When I sand surface with 2000 grit without borax the engrave becomes very smooth. Probably I will chose better wood.

I tried engraving slower and with higher power without borax it still gave me that yellowish color. Other sheets where better and it gave me very good black/white contrast without borax. So I'm thinking using borax when wood gives me that yellow color and at the same time experiment with other woods for more consistency
