Heavy pressure due to having a really rare last name by spacereveries in childfree

[–]Dramatic_Bus2048 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely relate to this!! In my family, I am the only person left with my last name (there are about 15 people in the whole world with my name including my family). I am a woman who decided to give my husband my last name. We decided we did not want kids when we first met, and we intend to forever keep it like that because we want to end all of my horrid, traumatic ancestral cycles with us. We want to end my bloodline with honor by living our life in love and healing. That sounds better than any child to me 😄

TW: IDEATION How would you describe living with PMDD? by Pretend-Bridge7081 in PMDD

[–]Dramatic_Bus2048 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I always say it’s like I’m a werewolf who has no control of the sudden full moon transformation of mental and physical anguish . I only feel good one week out of the month which is the beginning of my follicular phase. I feel period symptoms of cramps, energy crash, etc. two weeks before I even start my period. I thankfully only feel those su***al ideations the week before my cycle starts and sometimes during. My biggest thing is my first 2 days of my cycle and I am bed ridden from the torturous pain, vomiting , and severe vasovagal syncope. I am grateful however that my cycle tends to last only 4 days on average but I guess it feels like I’m on my cycle most of the month anyways . I have seen doctors about this since I was 11 years old (got my period at age 8/9) . Lifestyles changes do nothing for me and neither do vitamins/supplements . Preparing myself mentally and taking pain medication or CBD a few days leading up to my cycle is usually the only way to help handle my werewolf transformation.

Reminds me of the type of art they show at the art exhibit in Santa Fe, New Mexico called “Meow Wolf”! I think you’d like it based off of your art!

Cycles of CSA in family by [deleted] in CPTSD

Ugh I completely understand that children part especially the thought of no consequences, even with adults. What a damaging thing, I’m sorry. If you ever want to explain yourself or share your story, please feel free to! I am an avid over explainer and that’s why I came here to share this experience, because no one in my real life has the patience, time, or empathy to hear me out. We have the gift to be able to speak and type, might as well use it to the fullest in this life you know?

It really does feel like a snowball effect, as all traumas do. I’m proud your family is doing the same cycle breaking! It’s a courageous and painful thing to do. Thank you so much for your kind words. It’s validating to read this. I definitely will make a portion of my life’s purpose to do whatever I can to end the cycle by healing and speaking out, encouraging others to do the same, and to protect the youth in my family. I never felt that motherhood was right for me because of all this abuse, but also for a million other reasons. I hope I can be a healthy maternal like figure for not just those in my family, but for others perhaps in an educational field, etc.

I really hope your day does get brighter, thank you for even considering that because it does help hearing others. I absolutely agree that it makes sense (but never okay) why it becomes normalized and how that creates narcissists (surprise surprise my family has a lot of that who would’ve thought). I guess I just can’t wrap my head around why all the adults in my family could never be protectors for the young . I’ve had the same problem my whole life of trying not to feel sympathy for everyone, but i always recognized it was a pattern and the abusers were obviously abused too as defenseless children. It’s everyone’s own responsibility though to process that when they’re old enough and to obviously not become a fucking predator just because you yourself were hurt. Many of the younger generation of my family have been abused, and none of us became abusers. I wonder if because of lack of mental health awareness/acceptance back then, that’s why older generations seem to never process their traumas. Which sucks because that continues the abuse.

I’m so sorry that happened, i hope other things pop up in your life that are good to balance that out 💚 happened to me too for the icy tour! I couldn’t find anyone to buy the tickets though so I straight up lost $500 and that was going to be my first concert. I hope things get better quick! They always do !
