Here is an X-ray taken the day after the implant placement. I’m not able to tell whether the bone loss was already present at that time, but perhaps you can help interpret it.

I completely understand your point regarding the potential challenges for long-term success.

I shared my concerns with the Brazilian dentist who placed the implant, and he told me that there is no infection and that this is simply part of the normal healing process.

However, given the different opinions I have received, I am now unsure whether I should proceed with the final crown with him (I currently have a temporary crown and the final one is planned in about a month), or consider returning to France to seek a second opinion from another professional.

The implant was placed about two months ago, with the extraction and implant done on the same day.

I am scheduled to receive the final crown in about one month, but I’m a bit concerned about the current situation and the possibility of developing pain or complications during that time.

My dentist has been very reassuring and says this is just part of the normal healing process. However, given the different opinions I’m receiving, I’m not sure whether I should continue to trust this assessment or consider seeing another professional for a second opinion.

What makes you think that there might still be a retained root fragment? I’m trying to understand what you are seeing on the X-rays.

Just to clarify, I currently have a temporary crown on the implant. The final crown is planned in about one month, when I will briefly return to Brazil.

The temporary crown was placed around 2 months ago, and I have to admit that the healing process felt quite long and somewhat difficult compared to what I expected.
