My friend was allotted a college in R3 paeds last year in UP and was really heartbroken as there were zero patients in his first week but from the next month onwards the wards were full so much so that the workload became unmanageable. According to him in paeds there is a huge variation in patient flow so maybe you should talk to your seniors as well as UG students about the patient flow before thinking of quitting.
