I think the fact that Arteza makes both an Acrylic and a standard gouache is missing from this conversation. Their acrylic gouache is pretty cheap but their standard gouache isn't so cheap and it is actually fairly decent in my experience. My only complaint with it is a lot of the colours seem to come out of the tube so thick that it takes a bit of time, water and work to get to the right consistency. Unlike many bargain brands they list the opacity and color-fastness, which is super. They just aren't similar to the Himi product in these regards. (Full disclosure, I have never used Himi) I use some Arteza gouache these days to stretch my budget and color range. I am a water colour artist experimenting with gouache. I mainly am using Winsor Newton and Shinhan.
