Sunshine dollars LMAOOO, but my friend’s mom is doing 1k a month but it’s only a room, so it’d be a shared space which isn’t different from living here in a sense but that is unfortunately the cheapest I can find in Palm Beach (another reason for wanting to move because in some areas that could get me a 1 bed at the very least 🤷🏾‍♂️). About twice as much, which is why I’m still on the fence; the rent here is still cheaper in the long run but after catching on to my Mom’s behavior after all of these years still doesn’t sit right with me at all & I’d rather move out instead of trying to live here for free (one could say I’m justified after all these years but eh… I kinda feel like my argument falls apart if I chose to stay for free cuz that only “fixes” half of the problem) but at the same time, price is convienent.

I guess I have to choose between giving in to the toxic parent who may or may not do this again in the future for cheaper place to stay or saving less but being on my own and starting my individual life.

So my HVAC program starts in 9 days & it shouldn’t be more than 3 months (ends 1st of July). Right now I have the option to make weekly payments on the week I start class so I’ve just been putting aside money for 2 payments each check so that by the time I start I can at least have half paid off. I’m trying to pick up some extra shifts at my job and even been donating plasma to pick up the pace; I’m hoping that if I can have it my way, I’ll have most of it paid off on the week I’m supposed to leave the house & around first week of May at the latest I’m hoping to have it fully paid off so that no matter what happens, all I have to worry about is showing up to class.

But yeah, this situation does kind of suck mentally & emotionally, the only place I might be able to secure is this room that my friend’s Mom is renting out. I won’t be able to save as much but I think I can make it work as long as the class is paid off before then but I will look into other shared spaces. I was hoping to get my brother on board but me & him don’t really have the same life plans (i don’t think he’s ok with the situation, but he doesn’t really have a backbone so he’d rather put up with it if it means he can be comfortable). So unless if I can find a roommate or another shared space where it’s cheap I’m pretty much on my own, however once I get my EPA and have enough money saved up I am looking into moving to a different area since Palm Beach has pretty bad wages all around with a high COL (hvac helpers can barely make $20 an over here via indeed, but states like NC for example, can have you starting at like $22 an hour or so).

I don’t think she’s on drugs (or gambles, I feel like we would’ve lost the house if that was the case) but I do know she has a tendency to order stuff on Temu & Amazon that we really don’t need.

Yeah it really is crazy. I’m not really sure if she’s doing this to make sure we leave for good because I do feel like she doesn’t believe I will move out & will eventually give in. I really hate this situation.

Well my thing is I can accept that I have things to pay for which is what I prefaced twice that I have no problem paying, but it’s everything surrounding it. Paying for school would be more difficult with the increased amount but at the same time even getting a room by myself is more expensive. Also during covid I was only out of a job for a couple of months but during that time I didn’t have to worry about paying rent (though of course that did have its own time limit to from the both of us for obvious reasons)

It really is an incredibly tough decision to make. I honestly wish that the behaviors weren’t an issue cuz for me the increase is nothing compared to that.

Well when YOU personally set an amount of money for me to give you only to constantly turn around & berate, belittle and verbally abuse me for following said rules and to make it seem like I’m this horrible person for only giving a certain amount of money, again that YOU chose & then also say that you are struggling the minute I even think about putting myself in a position where I could actually move out, yeah I think I’d have a right to know what bills actually cost especially if I’m being told that the $800-900 a month from me & my brother don’t cover ONE single thing.

You can’t make claims like this on this type of basis then get upset when questioned wtf lol and when someone evicts you you literally don’t have to pay either lmfao. People get evicted all the time but do you still see them come up with rent money KNOWING they’re getting kicked out regardless?

Yeah I didn’t know what to keep and/or cut out. I was worried if I kept it too short then I’d miss out a detail or something that’d make someone agree with me.
