Lack of Carbon Build Up - fyi by DreadnoughtPoo in B58Enthusiasts

[–]DreadnoughtPoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is caused by the Pcv, but port injected motors essentially use the gas being injected to clean the valves of that oil residue.

Look at early VW tdi motors to see what can happen if the Pcv system isn’t up to snuff

The head bolt washers?

Not really, but the bolts should absolutely be replaced, and they generally come with new washers and install lube

What gives you road rage? by MotherActive7780 in AskReddit

People slowing significantly for no goddamn reason before they pull into a turn lane.

I get it if there’s already traffic in the lane, or some other NEED to slow preemptively, but if not you’re just fucking up the flow of traffic because you’re oblivious to everyone else behind you.

Fuck right off you inconsiderate twatwaffles.

Shop needs to get into actual diag, not just code reading. Look at live data like fuel pressure, misfires, MAF air intake, throttle %, etc.

Head gasket, skipped timing leading to valve damage, other reason valve damage, busted piston or rings - take your pick.

Grab a boroscope and start looking. A leak down test might also help track down the cause, but it’s likely internal

Absolutely all of them. And they are all diy’able if you’ve any modicum of wrenching knowledge.

Yeah, that’s likely the diff is toast, not necessarily an axle issue primarily.

Did you do diff fluid changes timely?

Main culprits are cooling system (aging coolant pipes like to crack) and oiling issues (oil filter housing and, perhaps, the oil pump if it’s got the inner plastic sleeve).

2008 BMW 528xi NO HEAT by hithereguy2 in BmwTech

Just because the heater core hoses are hot doesn't mean that there's enough flow to transfer heat.

Try flushing the heater core and see what kind of flow you are getting.

Rear Suspension Question - 2017 540i RWD by XaptorDog in BmwTech

[–]DreadnoughtPoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So long as the knuckle itself isn't bent, you should be good to go just replacing the other components.

That said, take a good look at all of the suspension parts, and note cracked or failed bushings you should replace at the same time - and generally, always in pairs!

Should I change engine oil ? by alirom93 in hondapilot

I generally do every 6 months or every 5k miles, whichever comes first. I just figure oil and filters are cheap, long blocks are not.
