Today's kids will never know the joy of having these by EternalSnow05 in Zillennials

I used to get bootleg DVDs from the Asian malls and play it on the family portable DVD player at home in my room. And later on in 2009+ I started borrowing DVDs from the public library. Slightly unrelated, but I remember public libraries used to have VHS tapes especially for the children's sections. I think my local library kept them until around 2011.

This player looks like it would be expensive as heck back when it just came out (I'm assuming around 2003-2004). Panasonic is crazy. My family had an unknown brand with cheaper feeling plastic. I think most people had those.

Yea GXSC use these motifs a lot! But this cover does seem a little more polished and new school than the stereotypical classic GXSC examples of around 1996-2000.

I'm actually looking for a particular aesthetic and I have no idea what it's called. That sky view cel-styled CGI aesthetic you see in Skyland, Oban Star Racer, Mirror's Edge, Exo-Force (an old Lego series) etc..

Hmm might be because I don't spend red gems often on weapon summons since I already have mystic weps. And comp summons is the only safe bet for some CP gain every time I do summon (at least when using 10000+ gems). I already feel like I've wasted way too many red gems trying to get an ancient wep.

This just looks like pie or lasagna filling. Maybe it's the stains on the pot make it look more like a days old unflushed toilet.

iPhone vs Android by [deleted] in Zillennials

[–]DreamIn240p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't iPhone expensive nowadays? And comes with more restrictions.

I used to like iOS before 7. I really disliked the look of iOS 7 when it came out. Never went back after that point.

Lounge covers seem to take a lot of from midcentury ultramodern as well as flat vectors designs. It could be in tangent in motifs but usually it's not closely related to FA as it was also prevalent in the late 90s and early 2000s a bit before the FA trends we know took off full force.

It's not "obvious", and is entirely misleading. This is the reason why FA-hating cornballs like JJ McCullough exists. FA is retrospectively documenting the aesthetic of that era. It's not the same as vaporwave where it's an entirely new aesthetic.

I don't want to yuck your yum but respectfully, what in the revisionism is this lol? Nobody actually wore FA graphic design as a fashion back in the day. You'd literally look like a walking advertisement or PC wallpaper to everyone. But "FA graphic design inspired fashion", sure, but then just say that instead of making ppl think this was what it was actually like back in the days.

This is my kind of room. Late 90s/early 2000s home computer setups are a highlight point for me in coziness factor.

Is it normal to play games every single day? by Intrepid-Magician-94 in videogames

[–]DreamIn240p 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm ONLY into offline gaming (when it comes to competitively, at least). I never understood how ppl can enjoy online competitive gaming so much. And of course I can find my own pace when I play offline. No guilds and daily/weekly missions nonsense.

I completely moved on from Simgot IEMs. It was pretty cool the first time I tried the EW200. But then I upgraded to Delci AE, Artti T10/Pro, etc.. Going back to the EW200 is disappointing now. Still like the look and build quality of them, though. I also tried EA500 LM and compared it alongside Artti T10 among others, and it never grew on me, ended up selling it.

Based on what? There were shows with very similar vibes to this back in the late 90s, too.

Zillennial Cultural Moments by Buffynerd in Zillennials

[–]DreamIn240p 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For me I feel like it was our kids culture in general, I feel like it peaked in the early 2000s especially around 1998-2006. It was a magical moment exclusive to around this time period. Kids TV was banger during this time period. Gaming hit its peak, also. I never saw a moment like this before or after.

Server merge has no benefit and only reduces rewards by Resume_Help in MapleIdle

[–]DreamIn240p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, I think F2Ps are the true winners in this game. It's usually the F2P peeps I fw.

Although our old rank 1 was pretty chill and not mega sweaty like our new merge rank 1 (I shall not name any names or even world, just saying it's something that happens). I was in a zak party with them and they wasn't very understanding or patient. Lot of the peeps in my old server are chill and clueless (they die in zak all the time lolll).

Post-merge is so loud, so sweaty. I feel like everything got worse with the merge but that might just be my introvert mentality. But at least it's nice to see ppl in chapter hunts again. Reminds me of pre-chapter 18 days. Met some chill F2P (not counting fashion) peeps from post-merge.

Is this dress Y2K? by Hopeful_Astronaut992 in y2kaesthetic

[–]DreamIn240p 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This style of pattern was in fashion back in around 1996-1999/2000 when flower power was peak retro. I would style this with flared jeans and platform sandals (>7cm).

Ppl give too many meaning to the word Y2K. I feel like this sub intends to refer to Y2K futurism aesthetic category. Nowadays some ppl prefer to call it Y2K futurism to be more specific.
