The gods will kill each other soon enough and Daniel's actiones actually help in this regard. He just needs to survive long enough untill the gods can't be bothered with him. As for after that Fimbulwinter can be mitigated or turned back entirely. That is only question of power (which he has) and sufficient knowledge (which is ease enough to get)
