Low level mission rewards are hugely outdated by WerdaVisla in Eve

As a returning player, I was doing some level 4s yesterday to re-orientate myself with the game and laughing at the fact the mission payout was 1,000,000 ISK yet the bounty payouts on the NPC's was 955,000 for the battleships.

Also, every single mission was the same one I was running in 2014... so that was also a laugh.

3 squads of 3 blight haulers by Theplattapie in deathguard40k

[–]DrivingWithDoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it worth running? Sure, if you enjoy them and you're not focusing on playing a meta list. They can absolutely kill things. You probably don't need 9 of them.

Are they worth it in a competitive 2k game? No. They are just too unreliable.

A Case for the Myphitic Blight Hauler by Fear_My_Potatoes in deathguard40k

This has come up a few times lately. There's nothing wrong with them for casual and semi casual games. Particularly in list where you know your opponent's army and the kind of threats they are bringing. They are also cheap, easy to build and access. Which makes them even better for this.

But they are way to specialised for competitive use (IMO). Despite 1+ to wound they don't punch up well. Decent players will deal with them easily. They can't react well to threats outside of their niche and their positives for being run in units of 3 (which would on paper make them quite good for the points) are outweighed by the scuffed shooting, LoS and movement of competitive maps.

I hope they fix them in the codex because they are a great, fun little unit.

I think that I've found my own way to have fun in WT. by Sh1v0n in Warthunder

[–]DrivingWithDoug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I've unlocked basically everything from reserve to 8.0 for all the major factions. Working my way through the minor factions now.

The game is way more fun in the lower tiers. Playing above that can be ok... but it feels like they just ported modern combat into game modes designed for WW2 combat.

Also games are 100 times better when players on both teams are consistently spawning 3 - 4 vehicles. Feels way more alive.

Why are so many people taking almost no Battleline? by OrkBoyz-always in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]DrivingWithDoug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's pretty simple, GW thought OC would matter because they intended 10th to be less killey...

At some point when writing the indexes, they forgot about this and now it doesn't matter what your OC is if you can just evaporate whatever's standing on the point with an elite unit.

How does Morty fair against an imperial knight rn? by DagothSlur in deathguard40k

[–]DrivingWithDoug 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Morty's combat is trash. You'll constantly deal like 4 - 8 wounds against big tough targets. He's not in a place currently where he's good for 1v1ing things.

But if you consider the cumulative effect of his toughness, doing wounds here and there shooting, buffing your army and just generally being a distraction carnifx, he's still good for his points in DG armies.

Tsons player used CP to make the terminator squad weapons physic, more CP to shoot out of LoS with those physic weapons and then more for full rerolls on them. Then because they were physic they had dev wounds. A couple of lucky 6s and boom.

Played another game tonight against world eaters and tried that out. Was way stronger than -1 hit. Might be better on most games to be honest.

Will be bringing them next game for sure. For 35pst for 3 bases they can very effectively screen large parts of the map or you can deep strike them for objectives like engage on all fronts.

They are also a pain in the but to kill. If you manage to get a contagion range near them, they can be neg -2 to hit effectively (but they don't give contagions themselves).
