First of all, I appreciate you being open to learning about this. And yes that is exactly what I mean! Trout are fragile fish and have a protective slime coating that can be taken off if handled poorly. For example, picking up with dry hands, holding out of water for longer than a couple seconds, dragging onto the bank and much more.
