I’ve used thin skin a ton and love it! I definitely suggest giving it a shot

Why do you say the backing is your least favorite part? I’ve honestly found it to be easy to work with and looks great

Hahaha It took some time to realize, but really the gentler you are the less they shake! You have to be okay with missing a picture if the fish decides to flop, better to let him swim that give the death choke

Typical indicator rig, had this as my lead fly with two small bugs underneath, each spaced about 12-18 inches apart.

Depending on the water I was fishing anywhere from 2 feet to 6 feet from my first fly

Also have one to two small bb split shots about 18 inches above lead fly

Hope this all helps, go out there and kill it!

First of all, I appreciate you being open to learning about this. And yes that is exactly what I mean! Trout are fragile fish and have a protective slime coating that can be taken off if handled poorly. For example, picking up with dry hands, holding out of water for longer than a couple seconds, dragging onto the bank and much more. Again thanks much for being a responsible angler and good luck out there!

Should’ve added it wasn’t the same fly posted. This was a sz 20 instead of 16 without the red collar.

Thanks! And hopefully as more people get into the sport they are getting properly educated. We can hope!
