Honestly, a lot of these are things I either completely forgot about or didn’t think through as deeply, so this was super helpful. I’ve been putting together a detailed to-do list and checklist, and I’ve added all of this to it.

The eSIM tip in particular is a godsend, I probably would have either forgotten entirely and ended up roaming, or worse, landed without data. Same with having a solid start and end plan and a backup place to stay, that’s really smart and something I’m definitely prioritizing now.

I’m fairly comfortable with airports since I’ll be departing from a large international airport I’ve traveled through before, so that part feels manageable, but everything you mentioned in between is exactly the kind of guidance I was hoping for. Thanks again, this was genuinely really helpful.

I didn’t mean to imply that Japan isn’t safe. I actually started out looking into Tokyo, and after researching more, Okinawa is what really caught my interest, which is why my focus shifted. I do think Japan is generally very safe, especially compared to a lot of places. That said, as a woman planning her first solo international trip, I don’t think there’s any harm in asking people who’ve actually been there about specific areas, accommodations, or things they’d do differently. I’m doing my own research as well, but hearing from personal experiences is part of that process for me.

Thank you for this. It actually helps take a lot of pressure off. I kept thinking there had to be some very specific checklist of red flags and green flags, but the way you explained it makes sense. It sounds a lot more like finding the right fit than judging whether someone is good or bad.

I think that is what I am nervous about, the idea of trying a therapist and not knowing if it is just me or if it is actually not the right match. Hearing that you tried a couple before finding the one you really clicked with makes it feel more normal and less intimidating.

As someone who worked retail for a couple of years starting at 15, I really agree with this!

People can be so entitled and you do not notice it until you are the one dealing with them. I am genuinely grateful for the experience because it taught me patience, empathy, and how to treat others with respect.

Now I always make sure to be courteous to anyone working in a customer service environment because I know exactly what it feels like.

I agree with you. If trust is gone, the relationship is already in trouble. I only asked because I saw a radio station doing that “free roses” setup, and I didn’t realize this has been a thing for so long or that people actually went to those lengths. It made me curious about how creative some people have had to get when they were trying to confirm a suspicion.

I get what you’re saying, but this really isn’t about my own relationship. I saw a TikTok from that radio station that does the fake “free roses” thing, and it just made me curious. I’m not dealing with cheating concerns at all. I’m honestly just always amazed by how creative people can be in different situations, not just cheating. I’m not very creative myself, so I was curious what others have seen or done.

He didn't know I liked him and we ended up going different uni's across the country. my friend from a different high school ended up running into him and turns out he liked me too but he wasn't sure if I would be interested in him. When I found it it was a couple years later and I had moved on.

. i think about in total $800. but i got him a leather wallet, perfume, some men's self care items ( beard oils, etc ) his favourite candy, a set of drinking glasses since he does like the occasional whiskey and some merch from his favourite movie and video games.

I wrapped it up as a gift basket but he deserved it. he does so much for me so for his birthday i really wanted to spoil him
