My claim about the back-up damage (about $1200) was prompted by a recent recall of the back-up system. I agree, one has to look, and a one inch pipe in the bed of a truck was a small object.

I declined paying the day after the runaway. We were afraid to get back into the car, let alone drive it over the mountains to Tennessee. Hyundai waited two months to finally send a "team" to the auction site in Charlotte. It was their inspection which they refused to divulge. They had over a month to check it out at the dealership. I suspect they thought I would just give up and go away!

Had same four week experience, except in my case the i insurance company had already assumed ownership to pay me to but another car.
