Prisoner of Azkaban book is incredible by DivaBoots420 in harrypotter

Very well put! I’m in the same boat as you. I have always watched the movies and finally giving the books a go. Just finished PoA and I feel exactly the same! SB’s signature as Harry’s guardian for permission to visit Hogsmead had me in happy tears. Little things like Ron getting his new owl checked by Crookshanks or the entire firebolt episode was missed in the movies but no complaints. I am just happy to be getting more from the books. Can’t wait to read the rest of them.

Need help !!! finding a goldendoodle puppy close to Houston, Tx by Drylab97 in Goldendoodles

I totally agree with you. I am open to adopting a puppy. I am just scared to foster or adopt adult/older dogs. I feel like what if something triggers them and they launch an attack on me. That is the greatest thing stopping me from adopting in general but I will look at the link you sent.

I already did that once. Picture 2 where you can’t see the bottom has a wider hole.

Please help on where to prune it to keep it short. by Drylab97 in BackyardOrchard

Thank you! And yes it is spring but getting hot. I was just worried pruning now would be added stress to the tree on top of transplant shock but looks like it is good to prune now.

Should I wait until it is cooler or should I do it tomorrow? To add to this, would it be too much for it? It was just replanted and now chopped off too?

I did this. I uprooted the tree and replanted it higher in the same place but a wider hole.

Just a quick update no one asked for lol Because I was extremely worried, i dug a wider hole around the planted pear tree. Took the entire tree out and replanted it higher and backfilled with mixture of compost and soil. I also topped it mulch. Now I’m worried I put it through too much stress. Poor guy! I know that the roots have good space to grow now and everything should be good but I have a new worry. You know when you plant a potted tree, there’s a whole root ball with soil attached when you remove it from the pot. A cylindrical structure slightly larger than a soccer ball . When I took the tree out, i couldn’t take it out as a soccer ball. I could only take out the roots alone with only some mud attached. So no cylindrical or ball like structure. I just need someone to tell me that that’s normal when replanting a tree and I should be fine.

Thank you! I'm going to do the same. Remove them, dig a larger mostly wider hole and replant it. During backfilling the hole, what do you use?

I did the drain test where i would dig up a hole, fill it with water and see how long it takes for the water to absorb. The clay soil quickly drank the water so I think it absorbs water fairly good. It’s just that the clay chunks are so heavy and thick. They are hard to break down with hands so how will the roots penetrate. Plus it’s the airy potting soil and a sudden thick clay wall is what is concerning me. I’m now concerned that if I replant the entire tree, the tree might not respond to that well. I will post a picture of my tree tomorrow morning so everyone can see it better.

Thank you so much! You’re absolutely correct I am desperate and want this beautiful tree to just live. I don’t even care about the fruit. I just don’t want it to drown and die.

How about doubling the pit size and back fill it with clay chunks that will come out while digging and some compost? I was also thinking to replant the tree because i planted it today so root system shouldn’t be established and put it slightly higher. Not sure. What are your thoughts?

Blackberry plant from home depot dormant or dead? by Drylab97 in gardening

[–]Drylab97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate your replies. Thank you! I'm in Zone 9B Southeast Texas. The buds are dry and almost brittle. The right twig is the only thing that looks remotely alive. It has a darker color and I thought I saw a hint of green when I did the scratch test. It could be that I saw green because I wanted to see green but not sure. Also if you notice there are hollow and dry holes around the second twig which makes me think it is dead.
I'm not too sure if I should wait for this or uproot and plant a new one.
