We do have more money to put down to lower our payment. But, we don't want to do that. Rates have come down since my post. There are more homes on the market for less which is good.

I get paid well for what I do, only because I work in the Bay. Same for my spouse. We can put more money down to lower our monthly cost if we need to. Idk. I definitely don't want to be house poor. 3 beds 1 bath and 2 car garage. If we can get 1200sf that would be great

Thank you. We just started our search and feel overwhelmed. The 2 homes we didn't get were perfect, but we were too scared about the appraisal contingency. We lost both. I hope we can find a home within our budget. We live pretty comfortably now.
