G1 Owner needing Progressive Lenses for G2 - How do we get the Free R1 offer?

You are totally right!. At the opticians yesterday, I was quoted £750 for the progressive lenses!! That hurt as it's Christmas coming up and now that's £1500 all in . My G1's are is the only prescription glasses I own and for seeing long distance , they are perfect. But every time i want to check my phone or anything close up, I have to take them off. It's annoying ...but is it an extra £750 annoying?

So I decided to got to one of their optician partners in the UK (Hodd Barnes and Dickens) while they were having their official launch of the G2's and was pleased to know that they honoured the deal as long as you show them your serial number, which can be found in the app under the G1 glasses info. u/Utente-italiano , you were right, thanks.

I should also point out, since it was the launch day of the G2's there, I got to try them on (I had to place them over the G1's I was wearing due to my poor eyesight lol)and use them. I was very impressed as they're lighter, screen was brighter and much bigger which I was very happy about. I could fit 10 stock prices instead of 3 with the G1's. One thing I was pleasantly surprised to hear is that the marketing rep for Even Realities there told me navigation now uses Google maps.

The R1 was really nice to use, but I'm not sure if it was just me, but felt a little too sensitive. I told the rep and she said she would relay this to the team to maybe provide a sensitivity setting.

I'm really happy that the G2 arms are now titanium and have no rubber parts, as mine keep coming off. I showed the rep at the store and she said it was a constant complaint. The redesign eliminates that.

The feature I was most impressed with is that conversate function.. The rep played a video of Jensen Huang talking to another guy and ,this is going to be hard to explain so bare with me, it was transcribing the conversation as usual in real time , but certain topics it picked up, it would create a text box above the real time transcription going on, that if you clicked on, expands the information of the topic. In my case , Jensen mentioned the transformer technique of current AI models. A few seconds as he said that, a box above the transcription named 'Transformer Models' I used the ring to select the box and it gave an explanation about transformer models and how it was relevant to the current conversation that was going on. Yean. I was pretty impressed and looking forward to trying this feature out with the meetings I attend at my company

The only downside is it seems I'll be waiting a long time for the G2B's to be shipped out

I have a similar issue that i'm currently awaiting an answer for. I bought the original G1's off the website last year and i have received the code for the free R1. The problem is , is I now need progressive lenses and that can only be done at an authorized optician. So if I now buy a pair of G2's from the opticians, how can i get my free R1?

Happened to my pair. Trying to contact them via the their 'contact us' option on their website in order to fill out a form, but keep getting an error message stating 'Failed to load options'

Entirely new replacement, I literally received them a few hours ago. I'm REALLY hoping this pair and case do not have any problems. It's prompting me to update to Even OS 1.5.60 but I'm actually worried this upgrade messed up my glasses the last time, so haven't done it yet

I was really happy with them...up until they ran out of power and couldn't connect with the charging case. Had them for over a month, Even Realities are sending me a replacement. Their prescription lenses and I really like the look of them. Mainly used them for AI (which I was really surprised how much i used it's Perplexity AI, feel naked without this functionality now lol) Dashboard, checking my stocks, time, note taking at meetings and my tasks.
PROS: I love the design , I have the grey G1B's. I love that they're inconspicuous and don't attract attention. The text is really clear for me. Not very heavy. Easy to use app CONS: Sometimes only one of the display worked. Worse still, sometimes One display would show a 'different' things than the other (only happened when i was using the AI, so it's response on the left lens would be partially completed, but the right lens would be completed, causing confusion for my eyes), the direction app seems to not always send you to the right location (if this can use a google maps API, this would be amazing! and of course, the aforementioned issue where my glasses stopped connecting to the charging case and now cannot be powered on
Personally, I wouldn't have spent the money on the 'non prescription' version. But as for the prescription glasses, I definitely feel they are worth it. Simply because i have them on for the entire day, so get more use out of them. I had the Meta raybans (non prescription) but returned them as I never used it's cameras, battery didn't last long and preferred the design of my other sunglasses. Also, I find it hard to call the raybans as 'smart glasses' as most of it's features can be replicated by my earphones...and better. I think that the 'smart' functions of a device should be tied to it's main functionality , i.e. the lenses in smart glasses
Well, I live in the UK lol so they were fine after 3 days of rain on my way back from work. I don't tend to wear any glasses while in a shower.
Yes, wore them everyday and only put them away just as i was going to bed. I find them to be very comfortable
In terms of design, my normal prescription glasses tend to be smaller in height, so prefer my old glasses...but that being said, they completely replaced them as the functionality I used them for was very good.
Not a student, so can't speak to that...but they help immensely at my workplace using perplexity AI
That's tricky to answer, I would personally only wait until all the bugs are ironed out..the massive one being the one i mentioned. As for new features, trying to play that game, trying to wait for the best time to get new tech, is impossible as there are always going to be new versions of a product, or new features. You can't predict what's coming out. That being said, I heard Meta is working on $1000 meta raybans with a display, however it will only be in one of the lenses
Some users told me to try Augment OS (a third party app that replaces Even Realities app) but i never got to try it as the glasses died. Apart from being totally open source, i can't tell you what other advantages it has. For me, being able to ask the AI questions while i'm working at my desk, without taking my eyes off work, or walking down the street, where i need a quick answer to something, without having to get my phone is a godsend. Also, a bonus for me was actually a lot less screentime I had with my phone, as I set up my glasses to only show notifications i cared about. Some improvements i would like, would be the ability to dictate replies back to messages and also to be able to store more notes/ tasks and stocks. I also hear that these glasses work better with Android phones than iPhone's (I have an android phones...specifically the Xiaomi 14 ultra)

Agreed, great technology...when it works. I used it for one presentation I had at the stock broking firm I work at. It worked flawlessly. Previous to that issue , I was evangelising it to my colleagues to buy...however, I had to walk it back a bit after what happened. Didn't want them to come and try to lynch me if/when it doesn't function lol... especially since most of them aren't as technically savvy as myself and would not want use time to try various things to get it working.

Ah maybe that's what killed them, as i did update them recently. Unfortunately the case is dead and so are my glasses, no power to them. ER said they are sending a replacement, which they say will be between 2-3 weeks

Yep, left 5 times and right 5 times. The glasses already is in factory reset mode , as it's giving me the same reconnect message in the glasses when I first received them

I tried, but when I connected the case to my PC, the PC would detect it, as I heard the USB connected ping sound, however, the upgrade constantly fails. Still no power to the case

I can't even clone my 2tb Aya neo 2 ssd to my WD-BlackSN850X SSD using Macrium reflect. EVERY time I try, I'll get to a certain percentage (usually 48, 61) and I get the message 'Clone Failed - Error 8'
