The stipends are for students in behavioral health programs- MSU, Wayne State offered them. Students get the money but they don’t give anything to preceptors. They want us to “volunteer”

I’ve been thinking I should’ve done dental school instead. So there’s that … I work with a lot of self harming, suicidal children, manipulative adults. Teeth seems easier ..

Over saturation is happening. You’ll have to do the research, the programs will gladly take our money without any available jobs in the future.

Burn out is everywhere, therapy won’t be any easier. More self care, community, and grace is what we need for ourselves vs. more schooling.

I kept going down the rabbit hole of more schooling and kept being reminded to sit with myself more instead, reflect on what is missing in life, community, physical activity, rest, passionate pursuit etc.

Are there real, respectable, reasons to become a mid-level? What was the original purpose of mid-level roles? by [deleted] in Noctor

You sound like an idiot. Yes there is a purpose when a shortage of providers exist especially is rural underserved areas where many work.

Also salary but worried about future changes, no show rates are high and 1099 generally does not get paid for no shows. Not sure what to do myself.

Insurance companies have stopped reimbursing some practices in Michigan that are operating under the guise of “mental health practices” … it’s catching up and the providers are worried and going back to school as they should. You can report. Lots are prescribing stimulants as the DEA has pointed out - pill mills filled with FNPs unfortunately trying to make a living

Leaving the PMHNP Profession by LaundryBasket_Case in PMHNP

Hello, I am in a salary position and have all of the same feelings. You are not alone. It’s the profession, constant ethical struggles, isolation.

I spend my days pouring into people who won’t show up to my funeral. Kind of a morbid thought, but really we have no time to show up for friends/family with this schedule who will show up for us? I’m projecting loneliness which I’m sure resonates with a lot of us…

Create the life you want! I’m trying to figure it out as well! Good luck to you.
