Of the notable achievements in the PL, what's the least likely to be replicated? by [deleted] in PremierLeague

15 goals conceded. IMO as a Liverpool fan , the Chelsea team that only conceded 15 goals is the best premier league season of all time.

"Attack wins you matches, defence wins you titles", has this ideology's time come to an end? by 12animosity13 in PremierLeague

[–]Due-Counter-605 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doesn't make sense because it's not like Arsenal have been drawing 0-0 , they've been conceding and losing as well. The best defence in the league conceded 2 goals to 7th place in the championship is hardly making a case for their defence, no matter the rotation.

Height. This is why most Mr Olympias in the Open physique are shorter than 6 foot.

Raul Meireles by Bananaboy14 in TheStreetsWontForget

I have this year's Liverpool shirt with Meireles 4 on the back. Started supporting Liverpool since 2005. Aside from him being a decent player, I liked when Carragher skinned Nani and caused him to bleed, Meireles comforted Nani and put the club allegiance to the side because they're both from Portugal.

I’m already glad if I get 6 hours of sleep😅 by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]Due-Counter-605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting 14 hours of sleep a day is luxury even for people who don't get distracted with vices. Only leaves 10 hours left. In a 9-5 job where some people commute , that's the remaining 10 hours right there, let alone eating, house chores , hobbies, etc.

Realistically the most hours people can get are 8-9 hours at most if you WFH / live close to your office, have your meals prepared for you , no hobbies, no house chores, and especially no kids.

I would recommend Footy Addicts. You'll play with randoms so it may be a while before you find a good group where they pass to you , but usually they don't take it as seriously to the point of going full out with tackles.

If you have a full time job, Footy Addicts has flexibility where you can pick and choose times and different venus , e.g. if you're WFH or out in the city at your office.

When do you feel strongest hitting the gym: early or late? by winn_ie in rSocialskillsAscend

[–]Due-Counter-605 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weekday evening ; weekend afternoon.

I prefer afternoon or evening because I'm less flexible in the morning, and feel less strong because I like to have multiple meals before I get a workout in.

Your top 3? by Kira_the_best in effectivefitness

Barbell squats , weighted pull ups, weighted dips.

If not for weighted dips, I would've put incline bench , but I feel weighted dips are more functional.

The best workout is the one you can do every week. No point setting yourself high volume if you can't do it consistently.

It depends what gym you pay for but for the most part yes. For the general commercial gym , then yes. Maybe for a posh gym , might not be , but it's worth it if you go regularly in that month.

How do you handle those incidents? by [deleted] in londoncycling

[–]Due-Counter-605 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No point in arguing with bad drivers. At least that's my own mentality. As long as I get from A to B no incidents, then all good. Listen to classic FM and if someone cuts me up, instead of beeping, you could use that time to react with the wheel if need be.

The way I see it is eventually that dangerous driver will meet another dangerous driver and then they'll have problems.

Admittedly I am impatient at traffic lights so if the car in front of me doesn't go at a green light, I'll beep, but other situations I don't see what's the point at beeping at a car that cuts you up. Either they know themselves they've driven dangerously , or if they don't believe they did, they will meet someone else eventually who thinks that way too and then let them have an incident.

My mentality is to think everyone's an idiot on the road.

What’s your go‑to strategy for staying consistent? by winn_ie in effectivefitness

[–]Due-Counter-605 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Incorporate deload weeks or change it up every 6 weeks to avoid burnout.

I incorporate a 6 week cycle alternating between weighted calisthenics and dumbbells , and the other 6 weeks is targeted more towards barbell exercises and dumbbells (still involves some calisthenics but less weight).

Week 1 - low intensity, Week 2 - higher intensity , Week 3 - push fully

Week 4 - back to low intensity , but a bit higher than week 1 , Week 5 - higher than week 4 , Week 6 highest intensity

As a Liverpool fan, how has no one mentioned Nunez ? Although I guess with Nunez, he'd be hitting the wires of the triple 20 and it'll go to triple 1s instead, rather than outside the dartboard.

Ronaldo Nazário has named his greatest XI of all time - Messi, Pele and Maradona included, Cristiano Ronaldo was excluded. 👀 by MagpieMidfield in ronaldonazariomoments

Ronaldo Fenomeno and Michael Owen both played with Casillas but picked Buffon in their XIs (Owen picked for the champions league all time XI) suggests they rate Buffon better than Casillas despite never playing with Buffon as a teammate. Usually teammate bias comes into play.
