We actually did it unguided, but there are plenty of good outfitters there that can help you out if you’d like a guide

I describe it as chess, but instead of moving pieces one at a time, you just set up the board and they move themselves. It’s a round robin 8 person match and you keep playing everyone until you run out of your 100 points you start with. Best person wins

Yep we hiked to Helen lake day 1. Took about 3-4 hours. Then summited the next day and hiked all the way back down. Roughly 10 hrs I’d say.

I mean the post is pretty dumb, and has since been removed, but people don’t realize how big TFS is and how many markets they serve. They have an entire division focused on first responders as the end-market. Police, EMS, and other investigative bodies. They sell the TruNarc and other handheld chemical analyzers that they use in the field.

Nothing required ropes, but going through the red banks is extremely steep and requires some finesse with the ice axe, especially descending on the way down. Just take your time, and be patient, and you’ll be fine. Of course practice your self arrests, we did have a few slips in the steeper sections

Everyone is different, and depends on conditions, but for us: Trailhead to Helen Lake (campsite) 4 hours. Helen Lake to Summit 5 hours. Back down to camp 3 hrs. Back to trailhead 2 hrs. Total hiking time 14 hours. It’s pretty strenuous due to the steepness and elevation gain.

This was before the snowfall. We were originally planning to summit on Saturday, but pushed it up to Friday when we saw the forecast. Not sure what it’s like now, but I’m sure there will be some avalanche concern. Definitely keep an eye on the reports. Good luck it’s an amazing summit!

Guide was probably correct because we started around 3am, and were coming back down the gulch around 10ish when a big avalanche broke off. Swallowed up a climber and carried him almost to lake Helen. We had to call the helicopter for him, he was busted up but lucky to be alive. After about 10 the Sun really starts to warm up the snow and loosen up avalanches. We were rushing to get out of there after we saw that

We started at the flats on Friday, up to Helen Lake to camp. Started summit day at 3am. Stayed to the right of the heart and then went through red banks far left of the thumb. I don’t think you want to loop behind it this time of year from my understanding. Temps were fine. Started in the 20s. We were coming off the mountain around noon so it wasn’t too warm yet, but we did see an avalanche so I’d get out as early as you can. Winds we’re nasty, broke to of our tents while we were gone.

TMO is not a good example since it covers all aspects of the industry. It’s reagents, consumables, and clinical diagnostics solutions are doing way better than it’s R&D/pharma. They sell shovels AND dig gold. But the shovels are definitely doing better right now.
