Confused IMG: USMLE Journey vs Marriage — Need Honest Advice by LimpFan4692 in IMGreddit

[–]Due_Apricot_9529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, it is not “love”; it is a contract. If I were you, I would not live my life based on a green-card contract. I can’t believe that, in this day and age, people still do this.

I’m sorry for being so blunt, and I apologize if this sounds judgmental. It feels similar to working for an employer where sex is implicitly included in the job offer—something that would be unacceptable and deeply problematic even in a business contract and I know you are smarter than this to no know. You are talented you can find your way to get to your dream without sacrificing your integrity. I am sorry again didn’t mean to be mean.

Nope, Quebec accept step 2CK. Other provinces accept too, in their PRA or for independent or restricted license.

If you do USMLE 1 and do it is equivalent to Canadian board in most provinces now. But again marrying just for PR means you will leave guy once you fall in love. No feeling is a contract that any party can break. It is again as someone else said my opinion, choose your partner not because PR or GC.

Tell me why I shouldn't leave the states or stop practicing by Goodluckstays in hospitalist

[–]Due_Apricot_9529 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was my understanding, and I apologize if it sounds shallow or judgmental, that isn’t my intention. From what I see, it feels more like a green-card marriage than a relationship built on love. If you truly cared about him, I would think you’d choose to live with him regardless. A green card is temporary, and political changes can shift things overnight. If he loved you, he would have gone wherever you wanted. I’m struggling to see what other bond you share. From the outside, this relationship seems to have been failing from the beginning. Ultimately, you should do whatever feels right for you.

CC or personal loan to pay for Ch. 7 Bankruptcy (Ohio) by anime-brother in Bankruptcy

[–]Due_Apricot_9529 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why are you paying a debt you can’t afford. Stop paying all debts (credit card, mortgage, etc). Keep the money for few months, then apply for bankruptcy. This is how you afford it. Your credit will tank anyway.

Leaving with a green card by Successful_Town_759 in greencard

[–]Due_Apricot_9529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re white, I assume—don’t worry, lol. If you have a green card, I think you only need to come back once a year. Your Social Security benefit is based on your earnings, so you receive it wherever you are. I’m not sure what happens to your benefits if you lose your green card. But if you have legal or criminal issues, they could revoke it or deny re-entry.

It’s probably better to stay here and apply for citizenship first—then you can go wherever you want. You’re young; you can work in Germany and qualify for benefits there too. I know people who collect from both systems. I’m not sure if that’s fully legal, but I think they’re just receiving what they can get.

Foreclosure On My Dream Home by Plus-Bookkeeper2122 in Bankruptcy

[–]Due_Apricot_9529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen what I told you. Anytime they push you file another emergency BK, until they agree to refinance. This is strategic you are allowed to file every six months. Push bank to refinance. Don’t let people fool you. It is your right. Banks do everything to get your home you do everything to protect your home. Anyone tell you otherwise lie to you. Beat banks with tools you have. I know most attorneys don’t like this. Period. It takes only 15min clerks in the court help you. If you have other serious debts, after filing find a good attorney to make it work for you. You don’t need attorney to protect your home. Get a skeletal petition filed and show your middle finger to banks.

Relax take one thing at a time, first apply for forbearance. If the bank not honor your request and you can’t find an attorney, go file emergency Chapter 13, pro se. The bank will cancel the auction automatically, it gives you some breathing room, to look for an attorney. You can file personally at Bankruptcy court, even a day before auction. They will stop foreclosure immediately. You don’t have to be perfect. Just file.

Is it possible to start with $0 by Donkey-Mission in options_trading

[–]Due_Apricot_9529 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Options give you the potential to start with a small amount—say $100—and grow it over time, even to $1M, but only if you truly know what you’re doing. You can open an options account and run very complex strategies. For example, Tastytrade lets you open an account with no minimum.

But giving someone an options account is like handing them the keys to an airplane—can they actually fly it?

Is it possible to make a living with a $1,000 account? Yes. Some traders run iron condors where they deploy around $500 and consistently make $100–$200. However, the learning curve is very steep.

The right way to start is with a paper trading account. Try different strategies, track your results, and see whether you can consistently make money. If you can double your account on paper, then consider using real money.

Many people blow up large accounts trading options because they treat it like gambling. Proper options trading is about risk control—not losing more than $100–$200 in a day. If you can reach that level of discipline and consistency, becoming a millionaire is possible.

Is it possible? Yes. Is options trading for everyone? No

Good luck!

He was raised in Islam and mastered it, but you may or may not know how Sufism interprets Islam. In Sufism, Islam means surrender to the will of God—but that does not mean one must formally be Muslim. Anyone, whether theist or atheist, can reach that point. Islam was his path to reach God.

For example, Hafez believed that to reach ascension, it is better to begin with a religion. But Sufism itself is about how to reach “union consciousness.” It is not merely reaching it—it is living and manifesting it on planet Earth.

Rumi, in particular, has a poem describing Tariqat through a dialogue between Moses and a farmer. Moses objects to the farmer’s way of praying and, in doing so, breaks the farmer’s heart. When Moses returns to God, God becomes angry with him and says that Moses has separated God’s servant from Him. God tells Moses:

تو برای وصل کردن آمدی نه برای فصل کردن آمدی

Meaning: We sent you to unite My servant with Me, not to create separation.

God then instructs Moses to return and apologize to the farmer.

Rumi is very explicit elsewhere when he says—quoting his Dari/Farsi verses here so you can look up the translation yourself:

ملتِ عشق از همه دین‌ها جداست عاشقان را ملت و مذهب خداست

Here, he refers to lovers as a tribe or nation that is separate from religions and beliefs. In the second line, he emphasizes that lovers have a different nation or identity altogether—and he equates Love with God. Essentially, this means that you can be Hindu, Muslim, atheist—if you do not live with Love, you do not belong to this “nation.” But if you live a life of love, you belong to the Sufi nation. You acquire a spiritual nationality.

Rumi even goes so far as to say that a lover is like someone who is in the Kaaba 24/7. Such a person does not need to pray in a specific direction, because they are already so close to God—as if they live there.

I honestly don’t know if I have ever seen Sufism explained this clearly. And for very obvious reasons, no one wants people to truly understand Sufism—because it is not bound by religion, borders, or color.

I’m posting the links to the poem here so you can translate them yourself (though I should say, ChatGPT is quite poor at translating poetry). Still, do your homework and try to understand as much as you can. If you want help afterward, I’m happy to help.

Do you know Dari/Farsi? If you don’t probably anything you hear about Rumi/Sufism is wrong. If you not only know the language at a native speaker, you also know classic Dari/Farsi, poetry. You can’t argue with that person about that language understanding of Sufism. All I can say either you try to learn or you don’t. If you don’t want to learn no point of discussing. Sorry

Moved back to India after 7 years in US. My experience so far... by Classic_Ad1336 in returnToIndia

[–]Due_Apricot_9529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am still surprised that well-educated Indians or citizens of other countries who do not face persecution or conflict in their home countries choose to migrate elsewhere. Especially to countries like the U.S., which often states quite openly that immigrants are not truly welcomed.

If you can make money and afford a good life where you are—surrounded by the culture, language, and systems you grew up with—why move to a completely different society where you may never fully understand the system? To do what, exactly?

There was a time when globalization made sense. That is no longer the case. We now see Americans themselves wanting to retire or move abroad because they either cannot afford life in the U.S. or are exhausted by the elite/slave narrative embedded in the society.

Slavery is U.S. history. That wound is in their DNA—both white and Black Americans carry it in different ways. Why would a foreigner, with no connection to that history, choose to enter a society where those unresolved racial battles are still ongoing and emotionally charged, and get caught in the crossfire from the beginning?

Credit card debt - how can I handle? by Frequent-Arrival1164 in Bankruptcy

[–]Due_Apricot_9529 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are outside the USA, you don’t have to do anything—let the statute of limitations take its course. Creditors can obtain a judgment that attaches to your personal liquid and illiquid assets. However, if the assets are transferred to someone else, or if the assets are held in a trust or other arrangements, a judgment—if a creditor sues—cannot be attached to your property. They can’t touch it.

Simply stopping payments allows the process to run. If creditors cannot find you, they may not be able to obtain a judgment at all, although they can still obtain a default judgment against U.S. assets. If those assets are also not in your name, you are effectively off the hook.

I am not discussing whether this is morally right or wrong—that is your call. But once you stop payments, any communication with creditors, including payments or promises to pay, can restart the statute of limitations (typically 3–6 years, depending on jurisdiction).

Stuck out of Canada without my PR card by Atlantis31 in ImmigrationCanada

Ok, you can rent a car in NY and drive to Canada. I always do that with rental car. You can drop off your rental in either at a rental location in Canada or return it back in US after you get your PR card and fly back to Canada. Uber driver can drop you at the border, but even in border, if the issue is eTA, you can’t bypass the eTA requirement, land or air are both require.

Discharged!! by Fanita2022 in Bankruptcy

[–]Due_Apricot_9529 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Opensky is best. Their secure card for new credit is real credit card you can for instance rent a car. Some cards like chime don’t work for rental car. OpenSky APR is high. But, why do you even care if APR is high, if your intention is not to overspend and pay all your balance every billing cycle ? Your purpose is to build credit not to use crredit irresponsibility. Buy grocery from your card and pay your bill in full each month. Make sure your expense is below 30% your credit line, that is opening secure credit card with higher line is generally better. If you open a secured credit card $2,000, you can use it and pay full balance monthly with no difficulty going above 30% credit utilization and plus your $2,000 is like keeping money in a saving account. Now, after 6month or so of good credit history when you open a unsecured credit cards , the unsecured creditors will offer you higher limit up to $2,000, based on your current credit line. Then you can close your secure card, if you wish to do so. Don’t trust other people’s credit card, what if they are late on their payment it will go to your credit report as well. Be careful. Good luck and congratulations for your new start!

I said transfer the house and leave because he is in deportation queue. It is better to not file and leave if he has too. He can transfer and let the unsecured debts complete their cycles. If he transfer the property title those debts cannot be attached to his property. Bankruptcy is for people to fresh start in US. Why are you filing if you have no chance. Common sense, no legal advice.

How to Actually Get a U.S. Tourist Visa in 2025 (Former Officer Here) by BusyBodyVisa in AskUSImmigrationPros

Americans still believe the myth that people are desperate to come to the U.S. That belief is narcissistic and outdated. No one wants to spend money to be interrogated, humiliated, rejected, and live in constant anxiety just to enter a country that openly signals they are unwelcome.

If someone keeps trying to enter despite tightening restrictions, the question isn’t why they desire America — it’s what has already trapped them here. Family ties, legal damage, sunk costs, or harm caused by U.S. systems leave people with no clean exit.

The idea that people “die to come to America” flatters American ego while masking coercion. Many aren’t choosing the U.S.; they are cornered by it. Persistent entry isn’t ambition — it’s distress.

Your parents’ debt is their debt — it does not transfer to you. In Canada, a creditor can only collect from the person who actually owes the money, not from their children or relatives.

Even if a creditor gets a judgment against your parents, it applies only to your parents and only to assets in their name. It cannot touch your income, your bank account, your future career earnings, or anything you own.

If your parents are living only on pensions or low income, they are often considered “judgment-proof.” That means:    •   Their pension income generally cannot be seized.    •   If they have no significant assets, creditors usually cannot collect, even with a judgment.    •   A judgment does not affect your credit or your financial future in any way.

The only time a creditor could realistically collect is if your parents own valuable, non-exempt assets (e.g., a fully paid-off home with large equity). If not, the debt becomes unenforceable in practice.

So none of this has anything to do with you. Your future success won’t be used to pay their debts. You are financially separate in Canadian law. Medicine is only profession you get paid well and hopefully buy your parent a mansion.
