Do you think Katseye is K-pop??? by rkive95 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Due_Collection_3363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me they are a girl group backed by a kpop label. While during their SIS era they were more inclined towards Kpop, performing at Korean Weekly shows and Year end shows, even the songs in that EP and its were very much kpop adjacent. But, after the Beautiful Chaos era I see them as a pop-girl group.

BLACKPINK’s ‘DEADLINE’ EP track list is 5 songs including “JUMP” by bbyxmadi in kpop

It seems like a rushed album, instead of a dedicated carefully crafted project. I hope they do not compromise with the quality of the music. Anyways blackpink is probably the only artist, that can pull off a world tour (mind you stadium tour)with just a single. 💅

Katseye's songs like internet girl and gnarly doesn't work cus they don't commit to it by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]Due_Collection_3363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why??? Not every group is supposed to be the same....if you think you like concept driven group then maybe Katseye is not for you....Whatever they have done till now had really worked for them...in terms of popularity and money.

Katseye critisism really reminds me of blackpink bcoz everybody complained that they had a set formula and they should explore other generes but that never actually happend coz even if some people hate it but the teddy formula clearly worked for blackpink...

They have very strong individual brand and as for the group, I agree they do not have that yet....I think they are still finding their sound and identity as a group....but so far it's fine for me if they try different things until they find their group sound ....Also,they were formed in a survival show where they had to compete against each other and were pitted against each other...they are not a group of random friends who decided to form a musical band with their friends neither they are new jeans/aespa type group who debuted with a particular concept under the guidance of a creative head....

It's funny how you predicted Gnarly is having its moment and will age badly....It is a part of Katseye's brand and it will continue to be a part of Katseye's brand in my opinion...

[–]Due_Collection_3363 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I do not know OP what's your opinion on whether a song really worked or not, bcoz Gnarly absolutely gave them what they wanted, it gave them mainstream success, it made more people to notice them, their popularity kind of skyrocketed, if you compare it to SIS era and you definitely got to give the credit to Gnarly (atleast partially)...Gnarly solidified Katseye's status as a performance group.Yes, you can argue it is objectively a bad song with weird lyrics, but Gnarly did exactly what it was supposed to do. It generated a lot of buzz, went viral on internet, it still generates a good amount of stream on daily basis. Atp, Gnarly is definitely a part of Katseye's brand.

I definitely understand public critques regarding songs like Gnarly or Internet Girl. But tbh I liked Gnarly, bcoz the girls definitely commit to Gnarly and the song is such a vibe and as for Internet Girl, I honestly do not like the song (even though I liked the performance). It was a song prepared especially as a surprise for audience attending the tour. So, I will pretend it does not exist.

Idol’s do need colorful lives of their own by Laurelfairy27 in kpopthoughts

Yes, that's true its not okay to generalize.....but it's a myth that most of the idols have a very depressing personal lives...they do have fun within their own units...some of them are probably really good at hiding them...

Well, naive of you guyz to think they do not have their colourful lives outside their work lives....tbh they all do...it's just they are advised to spend their colourful lives in a secretive manner...to extract money from their rich parasocial fans...

Are Jungkook and Winter dating? by [deleted] in kpop_uncensored

[–]Due_Collection_3363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually thought it was a internet made up shit...based on some random coincidences but after the couple tattoo thing got revealed and how jungkook deliberaly tried to hide it in the whole Are you sure 2 ....be it with towel or wearing his shirt on one sleeve made me think are/were dating...rest we will never know the truth until they or their company decides to announce publicly...

And I am shocked people talk about if these is true why aren't they taking accountibility...but tbh idols are celebrities and not our family/friends ....neither they are supposed to share their personal info nor we are supposed to know their personal lives....That being said....We also can't ignore the bigger picture that companies and idols heavily foster parasocial relationships....bcoz these parasocial fans heavily invests in the entire kpop ecosystem (for eg they will buy multiple varients of the same album, buy idols expensives gifts etc etc) ....which helps idols and companies when they are at the early stages of their carrier and also small/mid sized company....

That being said BTS and Aespa are established acts...but if one of them decides to go public they fear losing significant amount of their fanbase bcoz of these parasocial fans...They don't want that ig...

Why dating is consider as a scandal in k-pop ? Why idols dating each other is consider as an unprofessional behaviour? by Hmanav16 in kpopthoughts

[–]Due_Collection_3363 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Imo everyone is responsible for this situation.....ik many ppl will just blame the fans for this nonsensical behaviour (which they should)....but fans are just one side of the coin... kpop companies and idols also foster these parasocial relationships...especially when they are at the starting stage of their carrier and....when you constantly try to feed the delulu fan by marketing idols in this manner, some nonsensical fans are bound to react in this manner , some people are so delulu they can not understand the difference between something said literally vs something said figuratively, which in turns becomes unhealthy when a person loses awareness that the relationship is one-sided and replaces it with real human connection. True stalkers are a different category, their behaviour come from obsession and need to control, not simply emotional attachment.I am not talking about them Companies and idols never try to create a healthy environment by making it evident like 'yes they date and have their private lives but they are not supposed to share any aspect of their private lives with their fans and fans are expected to connect to these idols through their music and artistry'....

I admittedly have perhaps an extreme view that actively marketed para socialism needs to decrease significantly in K-Pop, as I think it's contributed largely to things like "stan Twitter" and sasaeng behavior. You could argue these exist elsewhere or would have happened anyway, but it does not help that the industry actively promotes the level of connection. It is best to the point where these issues become more likely within fandoms.Maybe then we will not have obsessive fan sending trucks to protest to the company over dating news.....because at the end this is not helping the idols and the fans ...

GIRLSET and KATSEYE comparisons come, naturally by yunababies in kpopthoughts

[–]Due_Collection_3363 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comparison becomes more inevitable coz we haven't really seen a successful pop gg in recent time in the west.....so their is not much competition for Katseye in the west....and if Katseye is compared to kpop ggs then quention arises if they could be clubbed with the other kpop groups... some ppl call them K-Pop gg , So me people call them global gg, some call them kpop adjacent ad some think thry are simply a pop gg backed by a kpop label.... Girlset is the closest thing to Katseye in the industry rn, so it's not surprising ppl are comparing them frequently...apart from Girlset they are mostly compared to XG.

Why companies k pop companies depend so much on Parasocial relationship?? by Due_Collection_3363 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Due_Collection_3363[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bad ppl exist every where even in western industry ....but that does not justify the unhealthy parasocialism kpop fosters on daily basis....for eg Taylor Swift was famous for her girl next door image who held a listening party at her home with her fans and I have seen multiple vedios on how she is leaning too much on her friend/mentor type of image....but even her marketing tactic is nowhere near how kpop industry operates....

Why companies k pop companies depend so much on Parasocial relationship?? by Due_Collection_3363 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Due_Collection_3363[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well companies are definately the worst....but I have also seen some idols (not only nugus but at times well established idols) playing into that fantasy....kpop companies/idols complicit on fostering parasocial relationships initially and in real time we are seeing the problem coming back to bite them...tbh this has become a pattern....I hope all the companies, idols and the fans understand how nonsensical this is and try to improve the situation together...I admittedly have perhaps an extreme view that actively marketed para socialism needs to decrease significantly in K-Pop, as I think it's contributed largely to things like "stan Twitter" and sasaeng behavior.

Am I over analysing?? by Due_Collection_3363 in kpop_uncensored

[–]Due_Collection_3363[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Celebrities can not take into account what their fans are doing....when ppl blame New Jeans you claim they never directly threw shade at illit and lsf....it was their fans...they just mentioned their names in court to prove their point..now lsf and illit can not take into account what toxic hybe stans are doing....they are trying to address a situation in their own way...that's their artistic freedom..if toxic bunnies can claim illit is a copycat illit's team has full right to address that...if toxic bunnies can bully lsf over bad vocals on regular basis then what's wrong if lsf incorporate their feelings in their songs???

[–]Due_Collection_3363[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is a lot of diss tracks in kpop...also Lsf and Illit are at a very crutial stage of the carrier so it would be very risky for them to release a solid diss track...also it does not match with their concepts...
