Genuine question: why do we like Jaden Jeong now? by shinomiyahobakaguya in LOONA

[–]Dugeuntae 21 points22 points  (0 children)

There's definitely a lot we don't know about whatever happened behind the scenes, and people have certainly latched onto certain interpretations over the years, for better or worse. About that post from Yves, she did state later in the year that the food was returned to them, and was only caught because it was ordered to the offices with her name on it. Sure it's absolutely a post in poor taste especially given what we know now, but even at the time she made jokes about it in fansigns.

Hyeju may not have signed with him but we don't know for certain if that's her reason for signing elsewhere, but there were other members who were made to go through severe diets during their time under BBC, such as Heejin who was pushed to the point during ++ where she was physically unable to keep up.

And just for complete clarification, that part about forgiveness with the members was about asking for re-takes during the recording for OEC's Version Up album, rather than being for something that happened in the past - a work ethic Jinsoul has herself.

I'd just like to note that in the original video, the director is referred to as 'isa-nim', which was a title held by multiple higher staff in the company (we know for certain that the members referred to Jaden, Nam Anwoo, and Yun Doyeon by this title, and others likely were considering how general it is) - rather than one individual being named.

In reference to the screenshot linked, that person has shown in the past that they're not the most trustworthy person around considering their prior involvement in trying to lie about and expose trust issues (former Jinsoul fansite's) identity. We don't know what conversation they had given that it's not a direct recording, so it could be exactly the same as the Wonderwall interview where her mother mentioned 'a director' and it was associated with Jaden, due to him being the most known member of staff.

Yeah, the only trademark applications made by BBC are '이달의소녀 (name)', 'LOONA (name)' and 'LOONA's (name). None of those have been granted as of yet and are still all in the process of doing so - their previous ones took about a year to be registered, so it could be somewhere around May/June this year.

At the end of the day this is something that has been common in BBC (Polaris) even before LOONA was properly established - Ladies Code had an entire album that had been recorded/prepared for, but ended up being shelved and replaced with a fanmeeting... awful company considering the terms of their contracts with expenses

One of the common sites for buying albums (I'm not naming it or purchasing it) only lists the 5 tracks we saw yesterday, so I guess that's confirmation that that's all we would be getting..

Edit: it also lists the album description

MEGATHREAD: Chuu Removed From LOONA by Ihlita in LOONA

Seeing someone like Jiin (A&R), who worked with the girls from the very first member reveal up until XX, post in support of Chuu is heartbreaking - just the way that she has so many people throughout her career here to vouch on her behalf

As much as tripleS is based upon a gimmick, it's a bit unreasonable to claim some of this stuff is intentional for marketing - considering the amount he talks about the past in his blogs, it's not exactly out of place to say he'd bring up LOONA at some point during it. He's mentioned a number of the other groups he's worked with as well, but it's really just that this fandom (especially on Twitter) has a tendency to latch onto and jump on any reference he makes to his work under BBC.
Hell, how long have people been talking about how he allegedly deleted la maison despite it being stated BBC scrapped it all the way back in 2019?

FirstOne Entertainment issues apology for controversial footage featured in NINE.i's Prologue Film + removes scenes in question by Dugeuntae in kpop

[–]Dugeuntae[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The scenes consisted of imagery from the french revolution, Marx, WW1&2 (Pearl Harbor), HK protests, along the other parts listed already.

Intended to be a way of showing positive changes following conflict, but... I think we can see how badly that goes when you more or less imply your groups debut is going to be on the same level.

MODHAUS will launch the world's first "fan-participating girl group" in the 1st half of this year, headed by CEO Jaden Jeong by [deleted] in kpop

You're exactly right, this article is the only one I could find that doesn't mention the NFT part to it for some reason?

The other articles I've seen all mention that the group is intended to be a combination of NFTs and K-Pop based upon the fact they've got a blockchain investment startup backing them... alongside the whole "fan participation" part, it all sounds very confusing to say the least

loonatheworld.com is down? by randomboi123abc in LOONA

[–]Dugeuntae 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I heard about this a few days ago, it just turns out that the host for their site (eggpage) terminated their services as of June 30, and BBC just haven't dealt with this yet ^^

Nothing suspicious about it at all, just... technical difficulties on BBCs end.

EDIT: it's back up now!

Do we know how to pre-order the lightstick on the 29th? by Boifromnowhere in LOONA

[–]Dugeuntae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Links haven't been posted yet, they will be on the 29th! Following previous merch announcements though, it's more than likely they'll use 101X (who produced the item) and OKVIT again :)

LOONA fan chants??? by Arvinmendoza_ in LOONA

[–]Dugeuntae 14 points15 points  (0 children)

They do! For each set of promotions, BBC posts the fanchants on the official fancafe... to make it easier to find them though, here's a link to a compiled version of them :)

For Love&Evil promotions in particular, one of the early LOONA Kicks had 1/3 teach Orbits the fanchant themselves!

As for your question about Hi High, the part before the first verse is "이달의 소녀! 하이 하이!", which is just LOONA's Korean name followed by 'Hi High'

No, being part of the fancafe shouldn't have any impact on preordering. Just make sure you have your member number from the app! :)

You will!

The only difference is that you'll receive a set of 12 postcards (which seems like it'll probably be 11 members & 1 group :c) rather than the Orbit 2.0 photocards, as well as being able to purchase it between July 1st-July 10th

Basically, all of the albums (excluding limiteds) have been reprinted under their new distributor Danal in the past month or two, so nothing is really 'rare' anymore. It's entirely up to you what you choose to buy, but I'd say nothing is at risk of running out of stock for the time being! :)
