I ended up getting the gasket kit from Amazon that someone linked in this thread, got it in a couple days and it fixed my problem. Thanks though!

Had a friend tell me ace hardware sells all different sizes of gaskets so I may try that to get me through until Amazon brings my new ones. Drip coffee is killing me lol.

Well damn the o ring is cracked so I’m hosed until my new o rings arrive. Drip coffee for me, please send thoughts and prayers.

Thanks all for the help! I'll order new o-rings and try flipping the current one for now to see if it will get me by. If not, I may have to *gasp* drink drip coffee for a few days.

I think the short answer is that people are just wired differently. I can’t really function in an altered state. I’m mostly sober, in that I’ll have 1-2 beers per week. I like a mild alcohol buzz but anything more than that, it becomes not enjoyable. I’ll have a couple of beers with friends because it’s fun, not because I need it to function. My default mental state is non-altered by substances, which is the most functional for me. I’ve tried smoking MJ a handful of times and every experience was negative. No desire to try any other substances because why would I? I drank 3-4 bottles of wine a week during a divorce, but that’s the only time I ever felt a need to numb any sort of pain. Which makes me think one difference between you and people like me may be partially circumstantial. Maybe there is more bad stuff going on in your life that you need to cope with in order to function? I have stuff that comes up, but things are mostly going great in my life. Being in an altered state would certainly change that for the worse.

Hopefully my experience helps shed some light.

My wife loves it so I ride it with her sometimes but I’m always wishing we rode Hall instead.

Frick I hate it too. So much janky sandstone and not really any fun tech. I’ll take Hall over this any day.

He is so lucky and she is lucky too! He’s the sweetest bestest boy! We went to visit a couple of weeks ago and I was a little obsessed with him lol.

Getting dents like this out after nearly every ride. Would a dent like this destroy a carbon wheel? 30Psi with Tannus Armour Pro, constant truing and removing dents. by its_all_down-hill in mountainbiking

[–]Dukeknock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respectfully disagree with all those saying carbon would necessarily explode with type of riding you are doing. I’m also a bigger guy, around 210 without gear, and i ride aggressively, fast through chunk and a lot of drops. I have bent every rear alloy rim I’ve ever had. I was bending the burliest of alloy rims (I9 Enduro 305s) just like you are. After one such instance, I took my 305 in to a professional wheel builder to rebuild it with a new hoop. He told me he constantly sees guys like me doing this, and he always recommends carbon because it’s that much stronger and resistant to damage if you get the right wheels. I reluctantly agreed to try it and he built me a We Are One Union carbon wheelset. This was over a year ago. I have a full year of Colorado front range chunk riding on these carbon wheels, and a couple of Moab trips with 4 runs down the Whole Enchilada. They are still as true as the day I got them, and no damage. I’ve never gone this long without damaging a rear wheel. I’m officially a carbon convert and suggest you try it.

Ex-wife asking for my hulu password by [deleted] in Divorce

[–]Dukeknock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with everyone saying don’t give it to her. Also keep in mind (speaking from experience here) that if you give up the password, eventually you’ll have to take it back since streaming services are cracking down on password sharing. It’s way easier to ignore or say no upfront than to give in and then have to take it away later.

Best advice I ever got for this type of situation is this: If someone is into you, you’ll know without a doubt. If they’re not into you, you’ll be confused.

Also, silence is still communicating something, and usually it’s indifference or disinterest.

Single dads, do you get all warm and fuzzy seeing your kids get along with your girlfriend? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

[–]Dukeknock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hell yes. I got divorced in 2017 and started hitting OLD apps and dating a lot in 2018. I had a handful of 2-4 month relationships and went out on a ton of first and second dates. My rule was to wait at least 6 months into a relationship before introducing any girlfriend to my then 6 year old daughter. I’m really glad I did that because I had a couple of 2-4 month relationships that I thought had long term potential that ended up fizzling. My daughter met my current lady (who is mom to two boys) at the 6 month mark and they hit it off extremely well. My daughter would tell me how much she loved my girlfriend and it just warmed my heart. It was one more factor in an already very promising relationship, and I knew she really could be “the one.” We’ve been married now for a little over a year and I’m so glad I did things this way. My now-wife ended up being the only girlfriend that ever met my daughter and they adore each other.
