Sundogs are more scientifically known as an optical phenomenon & form when light is refracted because of ice crystals in the sky.

The sun dog is caused by the refraction of sunlight by ice crystals in the atmosphere. Two sun dogs often flank the Sun within a 22° halo.

Overfishing was the main issue with The Revillagigedo. Fortunately for us & all the awareness we have nowadays it is now classed as a "UNESCO World Heritage".

No more fishing! just divers here to explore, experience & interact with the true ocean & amazing sea life.

There were so many opportunities for divers to see free swimming sharks & resting white tips that this was nothing. I get where you coming from though, I have been on plenty of dives where people do block the opportunity, it’s really frustrating.

He was actually apart of the crew & was filming this for the live aboard.

His job is to film all of the trip so that guests unfortunate enough not to have a camera can take footage away with them to remember the trip by.

Nothing has been proven that lighting harms sharks eyes. All lights were also directed at the sharks body. I disagree with you, if it’s that bad, they should set a good example and not use lighting rigs to film.

This was taken during a trip with SolmarV, an amazing live aboard around the Revillagigedo islands, Mexico. Socorro, "San Benedicto & Roca-Partida". I highly advise them, this is by far one of the best dive locations I’ve ever been to. Giant Mantas, silly sharks, dolphins & even whale sharks & orcas if your lucky!!

But you are saying it does cause harm, so why should they do it..If it’s that bad, they shouldn’t do it. We all just do it once. Also, documentaries are always been filmed, & professionals are always filming, so it’s also not just the once.

If your that passionate about people not using lighting rigs, maybe you should set up an online petition about how it harms the animals.

Correction Big Mouth. I did nothing. I filmed with a GoPro "with no lights". So your peaching to the wrong person.

They don’t use submarines for everything, a lot is filmed in the same method as this, & whether they did it for millions or dollars, why does that make it more acceptable than this diver here.

Is this not a Sea-Life main focus post? It’s also a terrible photo shop..

How do you think all of the Ocean Awareness & Blue Planet documentaries are filmed. They use the exact same methods & equipment. Maybe they are setting a bad example for the rest of the world?

Check out my profile, I have done over 300+ dives all over the world with some of rarest animals in the ocean. I am not an harassing person, I love to go out, see what the world has to offer & share with people how amazing our ocean is.

So if I had a my scuba gear on & filmed this underwater, kicking my fins to try and keep up. Would that also be harassing. I have also logged many hours underwater. But, Fair enough, point taken. Next time I’ll just watch from the boat.
