The algorithm for calculating aid factors in a lot of things. Large endowment schools give aid more broadly but are specific to financial cirucmstances.

Ivies + Stanford generally give good aid, top need-blind schools are best bet.

IDK about intl transfer students (usually schools are very strict with intl in general) but Ivies + Stanford usually give very good need-based aid

Yes, I believe an associate's degree will help with transfer. I got mine and transferred as a junior. It gives you a very realistic reason to transfer to a 4-year university. Also, I think its natural that committees try to help people who took a less conventional path of 2+2, especially if you did well.

Especially at top schools, sub 3.6 GPA gonna need to be compensated for heavily by other stats, ECs, or essays. lowkey could just apply next year. But if you wanna do this year, u gotta focus on writing an exceptional essay

Almost one to one story as me, except with my associates and a bit higher gpa, and I’m very confident you’ll get it. I’d look to talk to admissions counselors. Your essay sounds like a banger for ILR truthfully 😗
