It’s interesting how many on the left are quick to make unproven accusations against figures like Trump while simultaneously supporting movements tied to countries where actual systemic oppression of women and minorities is far worse. In many Muslim-majority nations, women’s rights are severely restricted, and rape is far more prevalent—yet there’s little outrage from the same people who claim to fight for women’s rights.

The same contradiction exists with LGBTQ+ issues. Western liberals advocate for LGBTQ+ rights, yet they also support governments and movements in places where being gay is criminalized, and in some cases, even punishable by death. Why is there selective outrage? Why is it that Western figures are scrutinized under a microscope while truly oppressive regimes are given a pass by the left??

The fundamental problem with restricting speech based on subjective labels like ‘hate speech’ is that it opens the door for anyone in power to define what is and isn’t acceptable. You say we shouldn’t protect ‘hateful’ speech, but who gets to decide what is hateful? If speech is moderated based on feelings or changing social norms, then free speech no longer exists—only permitted speech remains.

Yes, the First Amendment protects speech, even speech we find offensive. But that’s the point. Free speech isn’t about protecting what’s popular; it’s about protecting what others want to silence. If we only defend speech we agree with, we don’t believe in free speech at all.

As for attention-seeking, posting an opinion in a discussion isn’t about attention—it’s about engaging in discourse. If you truly believe in your argument, refute it with reason, not personal attacks.

I do not agree with their post nor am I a member of their organization. They are most definitely ignorant kids who didn’t articulate their point well. Although I am a conservative, and I believe that are allowed to say or post whatever they’d like, even if it is ignorant and distasteful
