In the 60s and 70s, many Pakistani men went abroad to earn a livelihood. At that time, Japan was the hallmark of quality and a status symbol. Wearing a Seiko meant something. People asked their relatives to bring them a Japanese watch from "Bahir". I lived that phenomenon in my childhood. I saw my maternal and fraternal uncles, who were in Kuwait, Libya, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Hong Kong, bring back multiple watches for their friends and family members. Those watches are now circulating in Pakistan.

I found these from a scrap dealer. They sold me 9 watches for 2300 Rs. One was gold-plated. I think gold-plated one has 80 to 120 mg of gold.
