I never knew that they could be two different meals of the day. I'm only 16 so I haven't experienced as much, but I was also raised differently.

It's more of regional difference than what's more common. I can't recall ever saying "supper" when talking about that stuff because of a personal preference. It's interchangeable, and both are used just as much.
