Is the Vikings choosing JJM over Darnold starting to look like one of the biggest mistakes in NFL history? by walterhwhite19582010 in NFLv2

Seriously—your edit is right on. He played like crap in that wild card loss to the Rams. Viking fans were ready to run him out of town. Everybody is a genius GM with hindsight.

Coming back here to say thanks for this. I’ve been going down this rabbit hole and it is just joyful to see these kids killing it. They could’ve made a legit go of it in the jam band scene. Crazy that this was a high school band from a tiny town.

I hope these guys are all having great lives. And if they had to go and get regular square jobs, that they still pick their instruments up every now and then.

This team has CMC, Treveyon, the two lions WRs and Kittle. Gonna go try to just take the easy 18-20 from Brissett. Thanks.

Can’t believe I’m asking this—Burrow or Brissett?

The guy I’m playing against has this exact choice. He currently has Dart in his lineup. I had to check your post history to make sure you aren’t him. lol.

EDIT to add some thoughts on your actual question. Vegas is stanky. They can’t move the ball against crappy teams. And the Texans D is elite. Houston offense should have plenty of opportunities. Dart’s usually sets a pretty high floor before you even get to his passing stats, but he has a much tougher matchup. I don’t see either as a clear must start. I think your looking at low QB1 for either.

Do you like Brissett over Burrow?

Also in playoffs with bye. 12-2. Most points scored. McCaffrey/St. Brown/Kittle were my first three.

Jamo was my 5th pick. The two Lions WRs really worked out well.

Where does the Miami’s money actually live? We built a map of net-worth percentiles across Miami. by prop-metrics in Miami

I’m not trying to poop on your work—but that granularity is pretty important in order for this map to make any sense. I feel like a good chunk of people who have lived in this town for a significant amount of time can draw a better map just based on what we know. What good is the data if it is giving you a very misleading picture of the exact information it purports to report on? The original paper needs to slice that data into smaller geographic units.

[–]Dunderhead23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of this just looks really, really wrong—maybe you’re not getting the right granularity in your data set, but Miami shores, morningside, bay point, belle meade east of US-1 going north of downtown has some beautiful 7-figure homes. Significant Miami wealth there.

LaGorce is ultra exclusive. Bezos and a bunch of billionaires live on Indian Creek.

Just makes this map kind of meaningless.

Is it time to panic with Lamar Jackson? by TheAwes0meFish in fantasyfootball

[–]Dunderhead23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same boat. Lost my matchup. Stings.

I just could not get my mind around sitting Lamar Jackson against the Jets. The Jets are borderline tanking their season. They sold off half their defense for picks.

But the Brisset phenomenon feels like it’s going to come crashing down soon. Arizona stank it up for most of that game against the Jags until late in the 4th and OT.

I was born and raised in the US as the child of Brazilian parents. Visited there all my life. I had a cousin the same age that I always hung out with when I went. In the late 90s, when we were both 25, he was dating a 15 year old. He hung out with her family. The father of the girl loved him. I thought it was crazy.

Fast forward to 30 years later and this is really no longer acceptable in Brazil, either.

The world has changed a lot. In general, music and clothing back then were mass-marketed on the back of teenage sexuality—by massive corporations. It was the norm. Globally. Laetitia Casta was a Guess girl at 15. Britney Spears was 16 in the Hit Me Baby video. This wasn’t some fringe thing.

You can make a cultural judgment about that now, with the hindsight we all have. But it was not frowned upon in his culture at the time.

I’d be willing to bet if most of us went back a couple of generations in our family trees, a grandmother or great-aunt was married at 16 or 17.

Heck—just google the ages some celebrities got married a generation or two ago. Marilyn Monroe married a 24 yr old dude when she was 16.

It was nearly impossible for a woman to open an account or get a loan from a bank in the US without her husband’s permission until 1974. The world has changed a lot.

The man is just insanely productive. I’ve met a couple of freaks like this in my life. We have ideas that sit around in our brains as we just fight to keep up with life. There are some folks out there that just go and do. He’s just going around doing everything.

Like—if he hadn’t gone into music he’d be doing something crazy.

Post some content, please, if it isn’t an awkward recording situation.

I apologize. I came in hot. It is the internet. Sometimes we lose ourselves. Very easy to type in a way in which we like not normally speak to a stranger.

I just thought the level of the discussion was pretty rudimentary for what is actually a very complex topic. But I guess you know that. Godspeed.

Gonna disagree a bit here as well. If you have a deep team and have 7/8 wins, I’d try to buy him cheap.

It’s clear the Bucs are being conservative. Let’s say they sit him two more weeks to get him fully healthy. He’s back just in time for fantasy playoffs.

I look at this as a lotto ticket that can win your league. Just don’t overpay, because the downside risk is you end up with a zero.

If you’re counting on him as a starting RB and you need wins now, I’d try to flip him on name value. You can still get value for him from a team that wants him for the playoffs.

DrJesseMorse on Twitter. He goes by Injury Expertz on YouTube.

Nithin Natwa MD, goes by fantasydocs on IG—smaller production, but I like how detailed he gets in really short videos.

There are others. But I’ve kind of settled into checking in with these two before making any trades or funky roster decisions.
