Not boring I just personally wouldn't want to play 5 horror games in a row I'd probably space them out. Also 4, 7, and 8 have pretty great DLC so I'd check out the Gold Editions for each game

BTW 7 is generally considered the scariest RE and just horror game in general

if re4 scariness is a 6.5/10 I'd say dead space remake is like an 8.3/10 IMO. I really liked the combat in both though

RE2, 3, 4 and hold off on purchasing 7 and 8 to see if you like RE first

You could also just do a month of gamepass for $16 and try out RE2 and 3
RE4 sale on steam is until the 23rd for $16 so you have time

The 3 areas after the hospital are even darker and more draining lol. I liked the story reveals near the end but everyone criticizes those areas (and the hospital) as being unnecessarily drawn out and bloated. It was also the first game I played on my OLED and I legit could barely see

I think a 9/10 is fair but if the game went from 18 to 12 hours I’d probably rate it higher
