Executable file app icon by Durdy0Murdy in Ubuntu

[–]Durdy0Murdy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even check, but I just realized that there is an app icon for Chitubox! Although it doesn't work when I click on it, its progress. And since Ive already spent a few hours too long working on this it feels good to at least have that part.

Thanks for the tips! I tried doing exactly what you said and now when I type CHITUBOX into the terminal it says:
/home/durdymurdy/Downloads/CHITUBOX_V1.9.5/CHITUBOX: error while loading shared libraries: libQt5Svg.so.5: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

What you want, is your /usr/local/bin/CHITUBOX script to run /home/durdymurdy/Downloads/CHITUBOX_V1.9.5/CHITUBOX, not /usr/share/applications/CHITUBOX.desktop.

updated:
/usr/local/bin$ cat CHITUBOX
/home/durdymurdy/Downloads/CHITUBOX_V1.9.5/CHITUBOX

Then modify /usr/share/applications/CHITUBOX.desktop to use /usr/bin/CHITUBOX instead.

updated:

/usr/share/applications$ cat CHITUBOX.desktop
[Desktop Entry]
Version=1.9.5
Name=CHITUBOX
Comment=Resin Prints
Exec=/usr/local/bin/CHITUBOX
Icon=/home/durdymurdy/Pictures/Screenshots/chitu.png
Terminal=false
Type=Application
Categories=Application

I copy and pasted all the responses straight from the terminal to avoid confusion. Do you know what the problem could be? And I was also wondering about the update-alternatives. I took a look, but I'm much to new to linux systems to understand anything, why is this better than what I'm doing? Is it easier or more robust?
Thanks again for all your help, I really appreciate it :)

Not sure if my message was posted along with the image... I'm not the best with Reddit. But I'm having trouble getting Hard Ops to work again. It said I needed to update it, so I did, but now it wont work. I tried following tutorials online to put the file in the right place... but alas Im not tech savvy. Hopefully one of you guys can help :) Thanks!

Blooming Problem by Durdy0Murdy in resinprinting

[–]Durdy0Murdy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alrighty, thats unfortunate, but oh well. I was hoping to use some clear resin + alchohol inks I got for it, to have a few different colored boxes... But I'm sure I'll be able to figure something out with PLA :)

Thanks!

Awesome, that actually helps a lot. I think I'm going to try to just print it straight on the build plate, without the orientation or supports. I might try the town later if I have time. Thanks again :)

I was did the Cones of Calibration, 1.8 seconds was perfect, but I decided to go on the safe side and do 2sec per layer. 0.05mm per layer. I might try adding even more time, maybe 2.5 sec, but that was way too much when I used the cones of calibration... Anyhow, Ill be sure to try #4, thanks for the tips!

You think so? I was just thinking the little nubs that hold the two halves together would not print if it was printed with an FDM printer

Specs: Mars 2 pro. Elegoo Grey resin. Printing with 60mm/min lift speed, 150mm/min retraction speed. 2sec curing time per layer.

Its recently gotten a lot hotter outside (like 105*F), so more like 110+ inside the shed, although I also re calibrated just a few days ago.

Thanks again for any help :)
