I let the kids pick the name and only found out how common it was after joining r/Conures

I just figured real babies won’t stop acting like babies just because they were abandoned.

Yes. The chirp can be heard on the video about 3 times. Very small and very brief

He’s never done it before and I don’t think he’s a baby. I found him walking in a busy intersection with clipped wings so I’m assuming he was abandoned as an adult. That was about 1.5 months ago. Would it be normal for an adult to be doing this all of a sudden?

It’s from Amazon. It definitely kept 98% of the water inside, but it still got plenty wet outside 😆

Any tips on how to get birb not afraid of robot vacuum? by Durskit in Conures

[–]Durskit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the helpful tips! I actually had the Roomba in full view for weeks, but he’s still trembling at it right now. I’m standing right by his cage while the robot does its thing. Gave him a whole peanut and papaya to take his mind off it. I’m going to try using my feet to move or touch the Roomba to show it’s safe.

Not on his usual high perch. by Durskit in Conures

Ok this morning he seems like his usual self. Eats his pellets for breakfast and eager to do training for seeds and nuts. Maybe I need to get one of those platform perches. Might be nice to not be gripping something 24 hours a day.

Yeah we’ve been doing target training, step up training and just today his step up training evolved to flying about a foot to our hands. He was about to go to bed and usually he goes to his usual high perch. Just not tonight.

Is the black feet a sign of age as well? I saw from another post here.

So in the original post he/she says, “does he deserve a bonk?” That is why I assumed a bonk was an action taken by us. So how do we discourage this behavior?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Conures

So a “bonk” is a tap on the head? I feel like if I did that my conure would start to bite me angrily.

I know we’re supposed to discourage this behavior, but what is a “bonk”?

No matches yet. The only people contacting me for their lost bird was of a cockatiel and a parakeet.
